Brownsberg Nature Park is located in Suriname, around 130 km south of the capital Paramaribo. It covers an area of 12,000 hectares and is dominated by Mount Brownsberg, which rises to an altitude of 500 meters. The park offers magnificent scenery, with beautiful waterfalls and a rich flora and fauna. Nature lovers will be delighted by the many species of birds and mammals they can observe on their hikes. Access to the park is via a poorly maintained track, which can make the journey a little tricky. Once there, however, it's well worth the trip. Advance reservations are recommended with Stinasu in Paramaribo.

More affordable accommodation for those looking for an alternative to the resort: you can either take your hammock and sleep directly in carbets on the river beach, or sleep in small rooms in air-conditioned prefabs (youth hostel-style), with shared bathroom and toilet facilities. Local meals are also a more economical option. In all cases, you can take advantage of the resort 's facilities for a fee.

This very pleasant complex is a real oasis in the urban jungle of Parbo. The emphasis is on relaxation and well-being, but strangely there's no spa, steam room or sauna! Nevertheless, the rooms and suites are bright and equipped with refrigerator, TV, microwave and air conditioning.
