A beautiful, cosy and charming seaside restaurant. Comfortably seated in an armchair on the terrace or in the garden, you'll be able to enjoy decent international cuisine: salads, wood-fired pizzas, burgers and some more elaborate dishes based on grilled meats, fish(ceviche) or shrimps. We particularly appreciate the proximity of the sea and the garden equipped with games for younger guests, which gives the place a vacation feel. Ideal for a moment of relaxation before setting off for Sarteneja, for example.

Even if the building doesn't look like much, Patty's Bistro is THE perfect spot (with air conditioning!) to sample the country's traditional cuisine. The shellfish soup offers a unique touch of coconut, as does the shrimp curry starter. There are also chicken and fajita dishes, as well as tasty little burgers. Service is fast, and the place is very busy with Corozal locals, making you feel like a real local. Please note: no alcoholic beverages except beer. Definitely worth a visit.

A small, solid-wood shack that serves delicious, well-presented dishes on its open-air terrace. This is Corozal's finest Chinese cuisine: spicy ravioli and fresh seafood. The Singapore noodles with shrimp are particularly tasty. The view over the bay is breathtaking, and the atmosphere and service are excellent. A place not to be missed if you're staying a few days in Corozal and want to change your diet.

June opened this breakfast restaurant in her own house and on her porch about 20 years ago, and it quickly became famous for the personalized welcome you get here, in addition to her large breakfasts (fruit!) and hearty lunch. Every day, we find the famous rice and beans (beef or pork) served with a potato salad and plantain banana. Fish fillets, chicken curry and various soups and other delicacies of family cuisine follow one another during the days of the week.

A charming beach chalet, clean as a whistle, with a terrace serving cuisine that's far more sophisticated than the village average, yet without superfluous pretension. From breakfast onwards, you'll find meticulously presented dishes, where color associations are merely the prelude to those of flavor(burritos, fry jack, omelette, fresh fruit juice). For late risers, the menu kicks off with soups, salads and fish tacos, before turning to the catch of the day or delicious curries (land or sea).

The place to go for a taste of authentic Garifuna cuisine: hudut (fish and plantain, coconut curry), escavoch fish,stew, shellfish soup or shrimp dishes. Visit on Fridays and Sundays for percussion jam sessions, as the place also functions as a center for Garifuna culture. The place is spacious and the wooden tables nicely arranged in a courtyard swept by the sea breeze, making it an ideal refuge at any hour, from breakfast to dinner. An absolute must.

This is the den of Garifuna gastronomy, where you'll have to go through the ordeal of tasting Huddut, fresh fish prepared in a delicious coconut milk curry, accompanied by manioc garnish. More classic dishes are also on the menu, and the place is ideal for a good breakfast before heading out to sea if that's your plan for the day. Don't miss the banana fritters and the unsuspected fish tea, a Garifuna specialty of course. Vegetarians will also find a very good rice with red beans.

For breakfasts, lunches and coffee breaks, this small restaurant offers a tempting menu. One of the house specialties is the burrito , which comes in a variety of vegetarian, meat and fish versions. Snack Shak is also renowned for its delicious breakfasts and smoothies. A true city institution for almost 20 years! Here, you don't come for the comfort of an air-conditioned room, but for the atmosphere of a little place of the world and its motley clientele.

The restaurant at the Maya Beach Hotel, on Stann Creek beach, is certainly one of the best in the area. You'll find inspired, high-quality cuisine, featuring seafood in Caribbean and international recipes. Lamb is also in the spotlight, and the version of this typical Belizean dish offered here will seduce your taste buds as much as your eyes. The excellent bread is homemade, and there are even several menu options for vegetarians.

When it comes to braised chicken, everyone in town recommends Ninette Boiton's restaurant. The quality/price ratio is truly excellent, as the portions are generous, the dishes tasty and the bill anything but salty. The desserts are also well worth the detour, if you can allow yourself insolent quantities of sugar and cream! Another plus point is that the restaurant has a shaded terrace overlooking the main road, from which you can watch passers-by come and go as you finish your meal.

Restaurant specializing in authentic Belizean cuisine, fish and seafood (shrimp, lobster, conch). Cauldrons simmer over a crackling wood fire all day long. The result is meatstews or coconut-flavored fish curries that satisfy everyone. You can also order grilled meats, or hearty, fresh ceviche-style starters. The decor is impeccable, as are the tables, and the service is impeccable. A good address, not to be missed from now on, where it's best to make a reservation.

Pablito's la Estrella is undoubtedly the locals' favorite place to come for a drink with friends. This unassuming little bar-restaurant serves up hearty Belizean dishes: soups, fresh whole fish, lobster in season and lionfish when available. The place, with its tropical simplicity (concrete slab under a palm roof), is also home to an authentic well dating back to Mayan times. A great spot to drink a cold beer, meet locals and visitors alike and catch up on old times.

De Tatch is located on the beach and glued to the Sea Spray Hotel. Its menu is not very original, but all the dishes are carefully prepared, and are therefore simple and very good. We stop here for breakfasts to be prepared according to the mood of the day: omelettes, pancakes, waffles, yoghurts, fresh fruit and juice, burritos, burgers, vegetarian options and of course seasonal fish and seafood. The setting is really nice just a stone's throw from the water and under a large straw roof, which smells like a holiday.

A Placencia institution. Opened 23 years ago by Omar, the family business is now run by his son Grayson. The restaurant is open to the four winds on the street, without fuss or frills; an elevated terrace overlooks the street. Specializing in seafood, the menu features lobster, crabs and whatever else the fishermen brought in that morning. For breakfast, we can serve you a shrimp omelette if you feel like it. The restaurant has its own boat and organizes fishing and diving excursions.

The map offers varied specialities such as ceviches, burgers, fried chicken, but also Asian inspired dishes such as curries and sweet and sour. The latter particularly caught our attention, especially the chicken. Family atmosphere.

Visit this small window on Belizean gastronomy, ideal from breakfast until your return from swimming, to satisfy one of those hungers that doesn't wait until you're comfortably seated. Here, you'll find just about everything: chicken dishes, fresh fish, seafood and vegetable soups, egg dishes for breakfast, and so on. Guaranteed not to disappoint, and what's more, the welcome is extremely warm, despite the rather shabby premises. A few wooden tables are also available for eating in.

Situated on the banks of the river in the beautiful El Gran Mestizo hotel, this is the ideal place to enjoy a quiet outdoor meal. The restaurant's terrace is very pleasant, and the dishes are simple but very good. The menu features fish fillets, shrimp, lobster and ceviche, as well as classic Mexican dishessuch as tostadas, fajitas and tacos, all of which are sure to please. The cocktail menu is also well-stocked. Meat lovers will be delighted by the wood-fired grills. Shrimps, lobsters and tasty steaks are all on the menu.

This little shack in the center of the village is renowned for its hearty cuisine, based on fresh vegetables and fish. You can also eat delicious chicken, freshly caught fish and, when in season, conch in all its forms. In short, healthy, local, simple and inexpensive food. Vegetarians will love the coconut rice or the stir-fried organic vegetables, which are a real treat. Everything is absolutely perfect! What's more, we're right on the beach, under coconut palms - what more could you ask for?

Anna and Armando, two Milanese pasta lovers, pass on their passion with this restaurant serving unbeatable fresh pasta (made on site by Armando) with flavors straight from the Italian boot. The dessert menu is also to die for, and the coffee that rounds off these meals with a taste of the sun is never too much. For a change from pasta, you can also try the excellent beef tartare, a rare dish in Central America and delicious here. The Italian-style wine selection is sure to satisfy wine lovers.

Located next to the Central Bank of Belize and the National Museum, this restaurant is housed in a beautiful building with green walls. Inside, a large dining room with a family and friendly atmosphere. The menu is a bit disconcerting with almost 100 dishes on offer, but if you rely on the classic (chicken, meat or pork dishes), everything will be fine. Fishing of the day is also a good choice, with fresh fish or even lobster; pasta is also very popular. Cake and ice cream for dessert. Impeccable service.

Asha, the chef, welcomes you to this wooden house on the sea, and offers a menu of Caribbean specialties. Fresh fish, sometimes caught by the chef himself, is carefully cooked in delicious sauces, or grilled to your liking. Accompanied by vegetables, rice or salads. You can also enjoy meat dishes, such as the famous grilled chicken, as well as burgers and vegetarian specialties. A very pleasant setting, especially during the musical evenings regularly organized by the house.

The city's must-try pizzeria, located at the entrance to the city center on the left. Giant pizzas and calzones can be eaten in or taken away. In addition to the set menu, you can create your own pizza to suit your tastes, from an extensive list of ingredients. As its name suggests, Pasquale's also offers chicken wings, salads, burgers and sandwiches. The terrace is very pleasant.

A stone's throw from the Barton Creek entrance, we eat simple and good yí, burrito, nachos, salsa, empanadas and or, as well as complete dishes like traditional rice and beans. Fruit and soft drinks are also on the map. 

Next to the Midas Hotel, this restaurant is organised around a huge terrace that allows you to enjoy the beautiful weather and an indoor room where you can find a bar and a few slot machines. The many dishes offered are classics at affordable prices (rice & beans, or, taco, burger, chickens, corn…). Nothing extraordinary, but everything remains correct for the price requested. Popular with locals and tourists. 

An Italian restaurant with a little caribbean twist that allows you to satisfy all the desires: pizza, seafood, and good dishes of lasagna! To open the appetite, one can start with a daïquiri or a martini, and to finish the dessert card is very glamorous (the cheesecake to the ripe is very convincing). The evening music evenings and the tasteful decor offer a romantic setting ideal for dinner dinners. 

In the heart of the jungle south of Caye Caulker, Frédéric awaits you in his pretty little restaurant, offering quality pizzas and generous salads every day. Every evening, the chef adds one or two different dishes to this already delightful menu. For breakfast, Suggestion Gourmet offers excellent pastries, a rarity in Belize. Here you'll find a quality restaurant and a bakery-pastry shop that's unheard of in the country. Fréderic is also a salsa teacher!

At Pepperoni's, you can eat in or call for delivery. Convenient when you're tired and want to enjoy your hotel room! The pizzas are made in the Italian style with a thin dough prepared each morning, and you can add any ingredients you like from a fairly exhaustive list. You can also choose from the chef's own creations. Calzones are particularly tasty, and not short on cheese! This is undoubtedly the best pizzeria on the island!

This restaurant is well known to expatriates and tourists, who like to visit regularly. This is no doubt due to the very pleasant setting, reminiscent of Cuban clubs, and to the gourmet menu offering several types of dishes, all of which are very successful. It's not unusual to find fresh salads on offer, which is very pleasant after a few days of Mexican specialities... For the hungrier, there are South American-inspired daily specials, burgers and grilled meats. The cocktails are also famous throughout the city.

Opened at the end of 2015, this chic restaurant, delicatessen, bakery, cheese shop, fishmonger and charcuterie has set up a large table in its store where you can feast on its delicious products while getting to know your neighbor. The happy owners, Ian Anderson and Chef Jay, have a love of well-made, flavorful products. The cheeses and charcuterie are locally produced, the fish comes from Dangriga every day and from the store you have a direct view of the bakers' work. What a delight!

Opened in 1984, it is one of the oldest establishments in the city. Here you can eat typical Belizean dishes and others inspired by international cuisine (steamed vegetables!), and you can also enjoy its takeaway service. Practical, since the restaurant is located just in front of the city's bus station. So you can stock up just before you go on the road. The room is air-conditioned, the service is very warm. In short, a good address. The menu also includes dishes from higher categories such as lobster

The products served here come from the organic Maya Farm, and are therefore fresh and delicious. The dishes on offer, with a Mediterranean or Asian flavour, are original and healthy: soups, salads, revisited quesadillas, burgers, meat and fish... Guava Limb's chef also offers a cocktail menu featuring infused rum. The restaurant is housed in an adorable wooden house painted in pastel colors, with a terrace for outdoor dining.

This restaurant is considered by Orange Walk locals to be a must-visit address. And despite the simple setting and sober decor, the food at Oscar Amparo Gutierrez's welcoming establishment is very good indeed. Dishes blend Belizean and Mestizo inspirations, with a particular emphasis on seafood. Lobster is often on the menu, as is a beautiful fish soup in coconut juice inspired by hudut garifuna. A must for those stopping off for a few days in Orange Walk.

A pretty, flower-filled patio for this restaurant frequented by tourists and locals alike, serving the best of local cuisine. Mayan-inspired dishes for a change from the Mexican cuisine so common in the region, but also pastas, burgers, grills and vegetarian specialties. Musical entertainment is organized on a regular basis, adding to the cachet of this little green setting in the heart of Orange Walk.

A little way from downtown but still within walking distance, Tan's pizza is a pretty little place, perched in the trees and built of wood. It's been serving great pizzas for decades. Pizzas come in a variety of sizes, the largest being 40 cm in diameter, and therefore reserved for the very hungry or large families. Made-to-measure pizzas are ideal for creating your own recipe. Very nice decor, and you can also take advantage of the take-away service. For peace of mind, call an hour before picking up your pizza.

Opened at the end of 2015, this is surely the city's most interesting culinary proposition. Chef Alejandro Mendez and his pastry chef wife Melissa welcome you to this small restaurant, in an air-conditioned dining room or on the terrace, to share good food in a very pleasant setting. Alejandro left to train in Guatemala City, before returning to open his own establishment in San Ignacio: a perfect blend of traditional Mayan and international cuisine. Don't forget to make a reservation, as the place is very popular.

Beside the beach, right next to the main dock, this is a perfect place to relax. The frame is very pleasant, with a shaded terrace, sun loungers, deck chairs and wooden tables to settle and enjoy delicious, refreshing smoothies (more than 30 à la carte), accompanied by salad, or, burgers or even cool.

This Ambergris Caye institution opened in 1974 as a burger joint. Since then, Elvi and her family have transformed it into one of the island's must-try restaurants, serving mainly Belizean and Mayan dishes, prepared with fresh fish caught just a few miles from your plate and quality meats; crab is one of the specialties, but don't hesitate to ask for a nice grilled lobster when in season. There's also a good choice for vegetarians, who can enjoy a delicious coconut or mango ceviche.

At the end of Albert Street, on the shores of the Caribbean Sea, locals and tourists alike flock to this pleasant restaurant. A shaded terrace lets you enjoy the view while tasting dishes and cocktails renowned throughout the city. As far as the cuisine is concerned, the main attraction is the famous chicken wings and fried fish, although the daily menu often contains some very good surprises too. Don't miss the cocktails. A lively atmosphere for one of the city's best addresses, day or night!

Surely the best address of Hopkins. The decoration is careful and thought around the theme of the frog, of which figurines and sculptures are scattered throughout the lovely terrace of the restaurant. Depending on the fishing of the day, the chef prepares delicious dishes, between European inspiration and exotic flavours: grilled fish with papaya sauce for example. Both German and Peer, the happy owners of the restaurant, are looking forward to welcoming their guests and giving us a chance to return again and again in this charming lair of travellers.

Ideal for a gourmet break, BTL Park is packed with little shacks offering a variety of specialities (wood-fired pizzas, Jamaican dishes, Filipino specialities, Mexican dishes...). The "vegan bites" shack is also very popular. The establishments change over the years, but it's always worth dropping by BTL Park on a trip to Belize City, as you'll often discover good local dishes that aren't often sold in the city's traditional restaurants. Good value for money.

Hotel Restaurant at the Ramada Hotel, it is ideally located in the quiet seaside area and the reception is very nice. You can choose to eat in the large interior room of this wooden house, or on the small outside deck, to give you the impression of being on an island. The most famous dishes are the "Surf and Turf" (wonder mixture of lobster and beef fillet), garlic lobster or the Veracruz fish (sauce based on capers and red wine). At noon, a special menu based on fritures of fish and poultry. Only inconvenience, when the restaurant is full, the service can be a little slow.

Small restaurant serving delicious Chinese and Taiwanese dishes. On Tuesdays only, you can also enjoy fresh sushi. The specialties change every lunchtime, but the restaurant is most famous for its soups and ravioli. Portions are generally very generous. A very good address where vegetarians will also be delighted to find a menu complete enough for them. Don't miss the colorful desserts, in the purest Asian style and with surprising flavors. Please note that this is a lunchtime address only.

This small, unassuming restaurant offers simple dishes such as rice and beans, homemade chicken and burgers that delight every customer. Meals are served in a small screened-in veranda, where you can stroll around after lunch while chatting with the cooks, who will be delighted to tell you all about the history and current affairs of their remote village. What's more, the prices are quite reasonable for quality local family cooking. We'll be back for more!

This unassuming little wooden shack in the middle of Burns Avenue is THE must-visit restaurant in town. Every San Ignacio resident always recommends this little gem first, which serves dishes of rare freshness. The vegetables are tender and delicious, and used in tasty dishes. You'll soon want to make this Eden your canteen for the duration of your stay in the Cayo District, as the prices are also very affordable. The only drawback is that the restaurant fills up quickly, so be patient.

This very friendly café is the place to be for breakfast, welcoming the same travelers year after year. Set out on the terrace, you can enjoy bowls of cereals, hearty omelettes, bagels or sandwiches to get your day off to a good start. The menu is timeless: you can order breakfast at 2pm or a salad for breakfast. Service is a little slow, but friendly. Inside, you'll find a small clothing boutique and a few fashion accessories.

We are attracted to this green and colourful restaurant. The terrace is surrounded by a lush vegetation that gives a great deal of stamp to the Siomara's. Once installed, the local dishes are served here from breakfast to dinner. Special mention for "fry jacks", fried doughnuts accompanied with mango jam. It's hard to forget so much about it!

Right in the heart of town, right next to the bridge, people come here for breakfast or a snack during the day, between two visits to the Dangriga region. It's a little place that's as local as it gets, frequented by locals as well as visitors from Belize who come to settle some business in town... Despite its basic decor, the food is very good and copious. It's very convenient for an early breakfast or a quick break, as in addition to the dishes, you can also find sandwiches and burgers.

Chester Ritchie and his wife Noelia welcome you to their restaurant specializing in bocas (quesadillas, burritos, tortillas) and other typical dishes(rice & beans, chicken stew...). The plantains are to die for! The fried fish is crisp without being dry, and the traditional potato salad is much better than at most other places in town. All the products used are fresh and tasty. From breakfast to dinner, don't hesitate to stop here, it's delicious.

The menu is redesigned daily by Chef Rob according to market arrivals and produce available within a 50 km radius. This Dutchman is passionate about food, and his dishes are a blend of local, Asian and European influences. The presentation is as meticulous as the taste. Prepare to feast, peacefully seated facing the sea. Start with a shrimp bisque flavored with old rum, which is exceptional.
