Where to stay in the UAE at a relatively competitive price? Without hesitation, in the historic districts of cities far from the seaside. We've put together a list of the best hotels in these areas. In all hotels, a certain number of taxes are added to the price, so it's important to check that the price quoted is net.

To be booked

Reservations are essential during the high season between November and April. Occupancy rates are close to 90% during this period, so make sure you book well in advance if you want to be in the best-placed hotels.

What's very local

In this region, families travel a lot, and there can be quite a few of them. So most hotels have a number of rooms connected to the parents' room, and most hotels have many twin rooms. It is therefore important to specify this when booking. Children are very welcome, so there are plenty of activities for them.

For food lovers

What strikes you on arrival is the immense cultural mix. The breakfast menu reflects this. There's a huge choice to suit every palate and culture. Often, they are more akin to a brunch than a breakfast, and many tourists prefer to skip lunch in favor of a brunch and afternoon tea with a few treats.

Smokers

Smoking is permitted in all areas where it is allowed. Most hotels have smoking rooms. Many restaurants still have smoking areas, but not all. Tobacco is sold freely in supermarkets and gas stations, but only to those over 18.
