Chas. E. Vinhandel was founded in 1921 by Charles E. Pedersen. Originally a completely traditional delicatessen, it has since specialized as a wine shop, offering a wide range of wines and spirits, as well as selling delicacies such as chocolate, fruit juices, specialty beers and many other culinary nuggets. The address is in the hands of Sofia and John Tybring. Today, there are two other stores - one in Risskov on Ellebjergvej and the last one in Nicolinehus, Aarhus O.

This traditional grocery store is an annex of the Roskilde Museum devoted to regional life. In an early ^20th-century atmosphere, you can buy handmade brushes, sugar loaves, herrings in barrels, flour sold by weight on scales... All the products are authentic and of the highest quality. The manufacturers have played the game by reverting to the packaging used in the 1910-1920s. The products are therefore a little expensive.
