Established since 1996 in Guadeloupe at Côte-sous-la-Vent, which remains a large fishing spot (particularly high seas fish), the Caribbean Fumés company has created the Cap Créole brand. Its geographical location allows them to get supplied with marlins, thazards, tuna and sea bream from the fishermen of the island. Specialized in the production of smoked Caribbean fish and chilled dishes in unrefrigerated trays, the shop, adjoining the house for smoking fish, offers a range of seafood products recognized for its taste and distributed in supermarket: sea rilettes, smoked fish, accras dough… Their product range is also available in local supermarket. It is now found on the menu of the restaurateurs of the island.

This family-run, artisanal distillery is committed to an eco-responsible policy. Gwadinina rum is a blend of white agricultural rums distilled at an average of 65°, selected according to the tastes of the cellar master. A stick of cane is added to the bottle to bring out natural flavors and aromas. The distillery also offers a rum aged in oak barrels containing various alcohols (bourbon, port, cognac, armagnac, wine, etc.). The 3-year-old rum won a gold medal at the Spirits Selection in Brussels in 2022.

This is one of the city's oldest markets, also known as the Marché Saint-Antoine, which housed market gardeners in a wooden hall that was destroyed by fire in 1871. The new metal halls date from 1874. The atmosphere is colorful and fragrant with the fruits and spices on display. You'll also find punches, basketry and love potions... Some of the merchants still wear the traditional headdress. It is advisable to ask permission before taking a photo.

This is the Damoiseau Rum shop which is on the same site as the distillery which houses a windmill dating from the 18th century. The old hall dates from 1928. It was built by the architect Ali Tur after the devastating cyclone of 1928. It became dilapidated many decades later and was demolished to make way for a new 300m2 space. You will find fruits, vegetables and spices (cinnamon, saffron, colombo mix, star anise, cloves, green pepper...) to accompany grilled meats, seeds of roucou which perfume and color the oil for fish broths... This market is not the most popular with tourists, but it is one of the largest in Pointe-à-Pitre. It's popular with locals for the food on offer, as prices are very attractive indeed: small producers come to present the fruits of their daily labours. The stalls are numerous and varied, with fruits, spices, local vegetables and freshly caught fish. It's an excellent opportunity to eat locally without breaking the bank, while promoting local production.
