The National Whitewater Centre organises kayaking and rafting days. Beneath the lake is the old village of Bala, which would have been submerged after a young man forgot to hand over the well cover… It is said that one day the floods will devour the small village of Bala. The city is famous for its traditional past in wool making.

Located near the Lake of Crosby, this complex is dedicated to water sports: canoeing, board and sailing boat. Courses are open to confirmed adults and children. The hotel also has a cosy bar and restaurant for a drink or a lunch. 

Summer Isles Sea Kayaking, formerly Northwest Sea Kayaking, offers half-day to multi-day kayaking trips. You will be able to take pre-organized excursions or create your own personalized trip, tailor-made, with family or friends, with a guide or self-guided. Stages can be in luxurious lodges or camping according to your desires and budget. Kayak, canoe and other equipment rental is also available for experienced people.

Its reception is located on the pier, you can take advantage of a shuttle to the nearby island of Inchcailleach. The advantage? No need to rely on a schedule... It's on demand! Take the opportunity to go to the island. There, count at least one hour to visit the place, but you can also spend the day there. Indeed, it is one of the loch's largest (52 hectares) and highest islands. Very quickly, you will have the impression to have approached another world, far from everything. There are several trails, for walks of 30 to 45 minutes.

Experienced kayakers can rent single or tandem sea kayaks (including paddles) and venture out to conquer the islands or the famous Lora Falls. Sea Kayak Oban offers day trips (from £105/adult) or half day trips (from £65/adult) to see the full splendor of the bay from the water. It is also possible to take part in multi-day expeditions, adapted to different levels, provided you are physically fit. Mull, Iona, Colonsay, Lismore are available!

King Surf is one of the region's most renowned surf schools. With over twenty years' experience, it offers lessons for all levels. Whether you're a beginner, an experienced surfer, a family or a group of friends, the King Surf School is without doubt one of the best options in the area for practicing this board sport in the waters of Mawgan Porth, a spot, incidentally, often less crowded than Newquay. The family of Paul, the founder of Dive St Abbs, has been in the fishing business for many generations. Paul was a fisherman for 10 years. He gained experience of the sea and developed a passion for diving, to the point of embarking on another profession: that of introducing divers and tourists to the beauties of St Abbs and Eyemouth. His excellent knowledge of the natural environment and the history of the place make him a very good guide. It offers several diving excursions and sea fishing trips.

This centre offers many outdoor activities, on the loch or in the forest. On the programme: exploration of the loch Ard by sail and motor boat, canoe or windsurfing, afternoon fishing, canyoning, paddle, mountain bike descent, climbing, archery... Sportsmen and thrill-seekers can go quad biking, 4x4 in the forest or take on waterfalls and rivers in a kayak. The centre also has a water park and "hamster balls" to move in a bubble and walk on the water. You can also rent your equipment: Mountain bike, kayak...

For all ages and all levels. Some activities, such as windsurfing, require a minimum age of 16 years. Here, we come to learn water sports such as kayaking, catamaran, windsurfing, surfing, paddle and company. You can start for an hour, or opt directly for a formula over a few days. For those who already know, no worries, courses are also offered for higher levels. For thrill-seekers, West Wales Watersports offers coasteering outings (jumping into the water from the cliffs).

Fowlake is an amusement park on the water... literally! Inflatable structures, in the manner of a fighter's course, are as many obstacles to overcome, all separated by water. The courses and various activities are open to all, provided that you can swim and are comfortable in the water. A wetsuit and helmet are provided. It is also possible to do towed buoy, paddle (and even paddle yoga) and wakeboard pulled by a cable. Package deals are available and you can book for a session with friends.

Maritimesightseeing to see the impressive coastline of the Gower Peninsula by rigid-hulled inflatable boat. Depart from Oxwich Bay for either Worms Head or Three Cliffs Bay. A great opportunity to enjoy the scenery and discover the marine wildlife up close! From May¹, when the summer season opens, we hope to see dolphins, seals and numerous birds during the two-hour outings. And even without them, the view of the coast and cliffs is breathtaking.

Kayak Majik invites you to discover Tarbert and Loch Fyne from the water. Even if you've never touched a paddle in your life, you'll find accessible exits in this centre. In family, between beginners or between regular or confirmed friends, different excursions are possible. You can spend half a day or a day at sea, with a guide, admiring the landscape and observing its rich wildlife: seals, otters, birds of prey? You can also rent by the hour canoe (one or three places) or paddle.

Vertical Descents is the expert for your refreshing outdoor activities. In a peaceful environment, this nautical centre offers many sporting activities. Between May and September, it is open to all visitors, for stand-up paddle or kayak rides for one or two hours, or sailing trips on the loch. You will be able to go shopping on the closed cycle track provided for this purpose. In the summer, the café is open and offers delicious hot drinks, accompanied by homemade pastries, all in a beautiful setting.

The list of activities you can do here is long: canyoning, rafting, kayaking or canoeing down the river, gorge walking, stand-up paddle, river tubing. There is something for every taste and every desire for adventure. All these activities can be booked with your group of friends, family, or as part of a group.
