Previously, the tourist office was located at Lordi Square: Lordi was the pseudonym of a singer before becoming the name of a Finnish hard rock band formed in 1996. A jack-of-all-trades, Mr. Lordi, the band's lead singer, began making demos on his own before forming his own group. The band won the Eurovision Song Contest in 2006. Their victory prompted the town of Rovaniemi to rename a square in their honor. A fitting tribute!

To find out about outdoor activities, find accommodation (large choice of chalets), understand how transportation works on the islands and ask for useful addresses or all kinds of advice. The tourist office provides all the information and maps you need for walking, ice climbing or canoeing. The tourist office also organises guided tours. It also provides information about the different museums in the city, or other cultural activities. Brochures can be downloaded from the Internet.

This complex allows visitors to take their brands to discover the region and especially the Pallas-Yllastunturi National Park. An auditorium presents a little film of about minutes on Lapland and its landscapes, a temporary exhibition returns to the customs and habits of the inhabitants of the region, finally an information point allows to find brochures, maps, information about possible activities. The office is not open to the public, but the website is extremely comprehensive and is essential for any preparation of a trip to Finland. It contains information, photographs, files about Finland and its many facets. It is also rich in information on events in the capital and on excursions to the Helsikian agglomeration or, further afield, to Lapland. It is available in French.

Previously located in the main railway station, a new tourist office opened in October 2022. It provides information on the city's activities, events, restaurants and bars. Free maps of Helsinki are also available. The friendly staff will be happy to guide you if you need help or have any questions. Another tourist office, near the Old Market Hall, is open from late May to mid-September; the one at the airport is closed for good...

A slightly hidden tourist office, at the back of Turku's transport office (take a ticket from the machine at the entrance and wait to be called - it doesn't take long!). The friendly staff have a good stock of English-language documents, maps and other recommendations to help you organize your stay in Turku. Don't hesitate to ask their advice, especially on the best ways to get around and organize your stay. You can also buy the ritual local maps (transport and museums).

Here you will find information about the amethyst mine, the Northern Lights House, the Reindeer and Lapp statue to see in the area and information about all the activities to do. There is information on snowmobile safaris, ice fishing, canoe rental and tours, bicycle rental or hiking and biking trails... Worth a visit: upstairs is a beautiful art gallery with works by local Saami artist Andreas Alariesto.

In the town of Vaasa, located on the ground floor of the Ostrobothnia Museum, the Terranova Centre is dedicated to the Kvarken archipelago. In addition to various models, you will also find information about the four nature trails and two hiking trails in the national park (with the Ojen trail from Vaasa, the Panike trail in Korsnäs and the Västerö trail in Maxmo). For those who don't want to hike, take a look at the national park from the Replot Island Bridge, Finland's longest bridge, which is 1,045 metres long.
