FOIRES
Read moreThe Leipzig Trade Fair Centre (Messegelände) opened its doors at the end of the 1990s. It is one of the most modern of its kind in terms of architecture and the distribution of spaces. It has a gigantic surface area, in particular a fully covered perimeter, of 112,000 square metres spread over several halls, which includes a huge glass bubble (Glashalle) 238 metres long, 80 metres wide and 30 metres high. The exhibition centre is located north of Leipzig, on the road to the airport and Halle. It attracts more than 1.2 million visitors from all over the world each year. The events it stages are varied, rich in economic and technical exchanges (as is the case with OTWorld), cultural encounters (examples:the Buchmesse or the Mutec) and family and general public events (the Haus, Garten und Freizeit home and leisure fair, among others). Year after year, Leipzig is thus establishing itself as a strategic trade fair centre on a German and European scale. It owes this to its privileged geographical position, at the crossroads of today's Eastern and Western Europe, but above all to the dynamism of the Leipziger Messe group, which coordinates each of its events.
