One of the few clubs in Mitte to escape the sweeping and stay stuck on its cultural aspirations. Led by an association, the Acud develops interesting and varied programs and opens its doors to all kinds of events: screenings of films, openings for expo, concerts, plays. Without being locked up, the Acud leaves in all directions, invites Djs in a relaxed atmosphere. A canteen is also available.

Design and luxury await you in this bar inspired by the 1920s, as well as an impressively original tea menu. For cigar aficionados , try the daily cigar club organized by the Curtain Club team and awaken the Churchill in you. Champagne and cigars in a refined speakeasy setting, you'll feel like you've been catapulted back to the Roaring Twenties.

CCCP, you may have recognized it, it's USSR in Cyrillic. A Russian bar then. The Old CCCP is one of the only survivors of the massive and aseptic gentrification of Mitte; it is one of those bars which, like the Eschschloraque, grew up with the Berlin of the 1990s and 2000s and which still today bear witness to an atmosphere that can only be found here. The clientele is heterogeneous, from regulars to gallery owners, from expats to trendy people, everyone is welcome in this cocktail bar that only fills up at dawn.

This concert hall - which has absolutely nothing to do with the Lido des Champs-Elysées - offers a programme that is both diverse and qualitative. Rap, rock concerts, slam sessions or even Soul Train evenings, there's something for everyone! Probably one of the most beautiful concert halls in Berlin, it's the place to go to keep up with the latest trends in what the local scene has to offer. But not only that, groups from all over the world stop by the Lido for a colourful evening.

Known throughout the Berlin underground, the Madame Claude bar has taken over a former brothel. The drinking-dining room literally plays with the laws of gravity, the furniture is "taped" to the ceiling and it is on the floor that you will find mouldings and lighting fixtures. A (very small) room is dedicated to stage performances (DJs, electro-rock or acoustic bands). On Wednesday evening, it's Music Blind Test night and on Sunday the most audacious take to the stage for an Open Mic. There is also a ping-pong table and table football. Good atmosphere guaranteed!

Discreet on the outside, you'd never expect to find a true paradise for lovers of French pastries. There's something for everyone: cream cakes, fruit tarts, croissants, even crêpes... The Algerian-born pastry chef learned his trade in Marseille and London, where he worked with Jamie Oliver. This café owes its success not only to the quality of its menu, but also to the friendly service of the staff (if, however, you don't arrive at the end of service, as the establishment is always packed!)

A bar-club that oscillates between a feverish evening on the dancefloor and incessant chatting with friends. We listen to disco (sometimes) and electro, we drink cocktails (all the time) and as often in Berlin, we feel like we're in a friend's apartment, between old charms and old school lamps. You can easily be tempted by a game of table football between the bar and the dancefloor. To put it simply, the Bohnengold is the ideal appetizer for a wild Berlin night out and you'll probably stay longer than expected.

Founded in 1882, the Berlin Philharmonic has seen a succession of the most illustrious conductors, but it was not until 1955 that it acquired worldwide status, with the appointment of Herbert von Karajan as its conductor. In this magnificent yellow building, designed by the architect Hans Scharoun, the acoustics are quite simply exceptional. It is also possible to visit the building almost every day on guided tours in German or English.

The name of the entrance SO36 recalls the old postal code of the eastern part of Kreuzberg at the time of the division of the town, which you will often find tagged along the walls of Oranienstraße. Since the 1980s, the SO36 has been an institution and offers a wide variety of evening events. Between Bingo (lottery) on the second Tuesday of the month, dance classes on Thursday evening, Roller Skate Disco evenings on Monday before moving on to the punk concert. Diversity of themes and audiences that have made the reputation of this underground culture HQ.

Here you can lie on the cushions, help yourself to the bar directly and take your time to answer this question while listening to the DJ set. The bar's decoration evokes the 1970s in all its destruction. And if you don't have a "date", you can also meet your friends for a beer and enjoy the music. Smoking and smoky bar.

The Morgenrot, the only survivor of the former punks of the Kastanienallee, is nestled next to a green squat. This place is the result of a collective wishing to create an alternative space of dialogue at the same time political, cultural and friendly. From then on, the service is done at the bar with more than honest prices, the place offers a free wireless Internet connection as well as numerous newspapers and proposes exhibitions and concerts. Its famous vegetarian and vegan Frühstücksbuffet (brunch) can be enjoyed from 11 am from Friday to Sunday.

Formerly a repair station for the Reichsbahn carriages, then a gigantic squat, it is today a vast complex of bars, restaurants, nightclubs, etc. Fundamentally alternative, this place is a paradise for street-art lovers. Frescoes cheerfully colour the brick façades. You will also find a climbing gym, a skateboard room and, in the summer, an open-air cinema. At nightfall, it's the meeting place for late-night sleepers. Unfortunately, the RAW-Gelände is threatened by a new building project.

Our favorite cocktail bar is located in the Victoria Best Western Premier Hotel, between the train station and Bertoldsbrunnen Straße. Surprising? Wait until you see the rest. As you enter, you'll instinctively come across the first bar, the Cocktail Bar. Classic decor, hushed atmosphere, not particularly original but comfortable: a good place for a quiet drink with your partner. But the real attraction lies elsewhere. Follow the stairs to the toilets and go down to the second bar: the Smoker Lounge. An immediate change of atmosphere! Here, the decor is much more original and elaborate, the atmosphere more relaxed and less formal. Sink into one of the quilted leather sofas and enjoy friendly, professional service, some of the best cocktails in town, a carefully selected playlist and a melting-pot, intergenerational atmosphere. As you may have guessed, this part of the establishment is a smoking area, and you can buy cigars to complete your journey in this Prohibition-inspired atmosphere. The menu is the same for both bars. Here, the cocktail is king, with a few classics such as mojitos and margaritas, and more original offerings such as the "Sage Old Buck" made with whisky, vanilla syrup, lemon, ginger beer, pear liqueur and sage. Of course, non-alcoholic cocktails are not to be outdone. For the less courageous: wines, champagnes and beers are also on the menu. The more expensive prices than elsewhere seem entirely justified in view of the quality of the offer and the experience on offer. In short, it's a door you have to dare to push, and an appearance you have to overcome, for an excellent evening out in Freiburg.
