On the Khövsgöl lake, frozen in winter, traditional dances and songs as well as sports activities and competitions.
Since 2002, the Ice Festival has been held annually on Lake Khövsgöl. For two days, the inhabitants of the region, as well as Russian peoples from across the border, gather on the frozen lake to celebrate the beauty of winter and participate in the festivities. The event includes traditional dances, musical demonstrations, shamanistic rituals and winter activities such as horse-drawn sleigh races, an ice sculpture contest, sports competitions and ice skating.
