Located in front of the Silver Line hotel, this café-bar very popular with the local youth is magnetizing: pleasant terrace, alcoves, beers, wine, cocktails, shisha and even a small smoking room... Rock and blues concerts on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, and a DJ night on Saturdays to dance the night away. The other nights the place plays its own music or organizes wild karaoke! Located in the luxury hotel Mayfair Spa Resort, this casino is an exceptional place because it is technically the only one on the Indian territory, because those of Goa are on boats. It is therefore the main attraction of Gangtok for many Indians, who come here like Americans to Las Vegas, for a weekend. Roulette, blackjack, baccarat, buffet dinner and dance shows will attract the most gamblers among you for an incredible evening, in a small gaming room contrasting with the quiet of the Himalayan mountains.

In English, barracks means barracks. While the military theme is well present with old stories and shiny medals hanging on the wall, it is more of an officer's mess than a piou-piou's room. Wide chesterfield sofas, beautiful cast iron, wood and leather bar stools and solid woodwork complete the soul of the place. There are as many drinks and cocktails as there are bullets in the magazine of a machine gun. But watch out for the bill, which can quickly turn out to be murderous with its 30% tax surcharge!

The Shangri-La Eros hotel's club mixes genres. The bar area with its wooden panels is reminiscent of a ship's hold. The dressing of the back wall is resolutely Art Deco. The huge central dance floor is lit by rows of spotlights swinging cold colors, and even dressed with light projections on the floor and ceiling. So much for the setting that makes the times and styles collide. The fauna arrives in number the weekend, rather the golden youth of Delhi, as in the other clubs of the capital, given the high prices.

The bar is the image of the hotel that hosts it with its British colonial style. The floors are in marble, the succession of airy rooms furnished with bourgeois sofas and armchairs in patinated wood. The bar itself is framed by stucco columns, the window is backlit and there is no doubt that one feels in a select club. The house offers nice references of whisky (Scotch!) and gin as well as a wine list, short but with interesting references. All this is well policed and the back is instinctively straightened when you sit down.

It is certainly very touristy but there are not many activities in the evening in Kaziranga... The whole is nevertheless interesting, especially the costumes, and entertaining. It allows to present a little the local culture.

This establishment is a real institution in Kolkata. The Trincas was founded in 1939 as a tea house and pastry shop. In 1959, the new owners transformed this place by creating a stage for local artists. Since then, every day, artists from the local scene, both known and upcoming, perform live on the Trincas stage. Classics of the Hindi pop repertoire, covers... the styles of music vary according to the artist. Both a bar and a restaurant, Trincas gathers a public of all ages.

The city's most modern cinemas, which offer the latest Indian and international films, have different theaters in Kolkata. American or English films are often subtitled in English, which can make it easier to understand. Indian films are more difficult to access, so let yourself be swept away by the atmosphere! You can check the website to see what's playing during your stay. The one on Elgin Road, well located and state of the art, in the Courtyard Forum, an ultra-modern shopping mall in the heart of Kolkata.

To relax ina luxurious setting, go to the bar of the Taj hotel.Relaxing jazzy atmosphere, elegant and muffled decor with its thick purple carpet, red velvet armchairs and baroque chandeliers. It's like being in a nightclub in Saint-Germain. The bartender offers a wide range of original cocktails, including the surprising "Blue Bar" with curacao, apple and vodka. Lemon slice, grapefruit quarter, chili pepper or curry leaf decorate the glasses. It is necessary to count the price of a good meal in the capital.

The nicest and cheapest bar in Darjeeling! This little pub was run by the flamboyant Mr. Puran, a big fan of 1970s rock and a fixture in town, who unfortunately passed away in 2016. His wife has since taken over. The cozy place is located in an old colonial building signaled by a small lantern outside visible in the mist. The interior has been recently renovated. The atmosphere is very friendly, the music pleasant and discreet, and when the doors close at 10 pm, the party sometimes continues inside.

All year round, the Delhi Tourism Office organizes a show in English at the Red Fort, recounting the history of the city. When the evening comes, let yourself be carried away by the magical atmosphere of this light music show, sublimating the already dreamlike aspect of the place. Projectors illuminate different parts of the fort. The tiers are installed in the garden and the different parts of the palace are spread out before your eyes. A bit kitschy all the same.

If hotels are being renovated or appearing, we can't say that the nightlife scene in Paharganj is diversifying or even changing. The Gem is one of the best places to have a drink and to meet the Indian youth and backpackers staying in Delhi or in transit. You can find the same gloomy and dark atmosphere as in many places. Great choice of local or imported alcohol. You can of course have a bite to eat as well. Fair prices.

Of all the hotel bars located in New Delhi, the one of the Hyatt Regency stands out. We appreciate the old fashioned setting of this very British bar. Woodwork, coffered ceilings, inlaid parquet and a long marble bar with high stools form a perfect match. The long list of spirits and cocktails is sure to please, especially if you are a wine lover. The house offers a very nice selection of grapes from all over the world, some served by the glass. As for whisky, note the presence of Johnnie Walker.

You'll have to look up to find this small, modern café, located across from the gas station. The place is perfect to take a break between your visits, and it benefits from a small terrace allowing to observe the activity of the street. On the menu a wide range of tea from Munnar, but not only, coffees, snacks, breakfasts... Tea tastings are even offered to introduce you to the different teas of the region. The place is run by very nice and motivated young locals. Probably the best coffee in town.

Since its opening in 2013, the success of this tiny cafe-backed café has not been bothered. Tourists from caffeine are coming up here. On the menu, espresso, hazelnut, cream coffee, elongated, macchiato… there are for all the desires. It is tasted in the shadow of a big tree while watching the boats and accompanied by a western breakfast (toast, muesli, omelet…). Coffee also serves delicious fresh juices. Antony, the owner, offers a lot of activities through its agency. Unavoidable.

This cultural center is an institution in Kochi. All the traditional Kerala arts (Kathakali, of course, but also many others) are studied and presented here. The visit of Prince Charles and Camilla on November 11, 2013 serves as a promotional tool displayed everywhere. An annex is located in Fort Kochi, on KB Jacob Road, close to Hotel 18. Every day the annex offers Kathakali shows, aimed more at tourists than those in Ernakulam, which begin at 4:30 pm with the actors' make-up session.

An extremely chic bar where Bandra's golden youth and high society meet. The setting is elegant, with an amber glow and beautiful views of the Mumbai skyline at night. It has the longest bar in the city, all in teak, and a huge terrace for fresh air. Excellent selection of drinks and cocktails, but the food, just decent, does not match the atmosphere of the place. A DJ sets the mood every night and on weekends the dance floor fills up quickly.

The Prithvi is an intimate theater built in 1978. Located in Juhu, the theater, with its café and large library, is a warm and welcoming space dedicated to the arts. A relaxed meeting place and breathing space. The theater presents plays in English and Hindi and has an art gallery and a children's workshop. Events (plays, musical performances, dance, poetry...) are offered daily, with an average of 640 shows per year! Festivals are scheduled every year.

Makeup symbolizes the transition from mortal to immortal. The center also organizes, from 6 p. m. to 7:30 p. m., a show that mixes kathakali, martial arts and various dances of South India. To attend pure demonstrations of Kalarippayattu (martial art of Kerala), you must show up at 8 a. m. or 4 p. m.

It is one of the oldest theaters in Kochi. Performances take place every night from 6 p. m. to 8 p. m., makeup session included. The emphasis is on explanations: The programmers expose the story of the Kathakali, its religious significance, etc., and after the representation answer questions from spectators.

The school in Fort is dedicated to learning the Kathakali and Kutiyattom. Shows are scheduled regularly and we can visit the theater every Friday afternoon.

The tourism office in Kerala organises cultural evenings every weekend from mid-December to late March. Entertainment is free and takes place from 18 am to 19 pm on Saturdays and Sundays at the Freedom Center, 5 minutes walk from the Tourist Office.

A bar-restaurant, very chic, located behind the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel. Its wise and polite atmosphere in the daytime falls when the moon rises to give way to an overexcited pub atmosphere. Social attracts in its web a young and well-to-do clientele, the kind that makes or breaks the reputation of a new establishment. We like the amazing choice of cocktails and drinks (milkshake with Ferrero Rocher!), the original presentation of the dishes and the king size glasses. In the evening, a DJ mixes the latest Bollywood and international music videos.

The magician Gopinath Muthukad founded this academy in 1996. He regularly programs traditional Indian magic shows.

A very nice bar located on a large open terrace, frequented mainly by students and expats. Relaxed atmosphere. On the kitchen side, a few dishes are served, more for nibbling than for real meals. The choice of drinks is also limited, it's not a fancy cocktail bar but rather a place where you can meet friends to drink a cold beer. On weekends, DJs take care of the musical atmosphere ("no commercial") to make you dance.

Want a real espresso? Climb Church Hill Road and you will fall on the establishment of this famous Indian franchise.

Located on the first floor of Gordon House Hotel, Havana Café is one of Mumbai's favorite youth spots. Drinks rates are available and there are also honest snacks and meals. The decor of the place is successful, with pastel tones and large leather armchairs, not forgetting the inevitable portraits of Che and Fidel Castro on the walls. A long bar allows you to order directly and to get acquainted with its neighbors. Rum lovers will be in angels. Good modern music, played with an appropriate volume.

If you also want to immortalize the Palace of Winds with your camera, it is from the terrace of this café perched in the floors of the Badi Chaupar bazaar that you will find the best angle. The owner has understood the interest of the location of this establishment and imposes to consume before pressing the shutter button of your camera, under penalty of being charged Rs 500. The drinks being cheaper than that, you might as well take advantage of it and settle down with a chai or a soda, the time to count the windows of the palace again.

This center has two performance halls dedicated to simplified Kathakali performances (the original temple performances can last up to 9 hours) and demonstrations of Kalaripayattu, the ancient martial art from Kerala. The shows are well-practiced, with music, a narrator and a flawless organization. It's a good idea to spend the early evening before dinner and learn about Kerala culture.

In a hushed and elegant atmosphere, the Malabar House team delivers its selection of the best Indian wines and a very original tapas menu. A tasting menu is proposed: five different wines, each of them accompanied by a plate of home-made tapas. This upstairs bar also serves different beers and soft drinks. The recipes of the tapas were elaborated by an Indian chef in partnership with a Basque chef, it is simply to fall... The result is amazing. It is certainly a little expensive, but terribly chic.

The Bhairon Vilas café is an endearing place, just like its owner Anand Singh. The place owes its name to the huge polished stone statue of Ganesh that stands inside. On closer inspection, everything is there, including the ladoos that the elephant is fond of, as well as the little mouse, his vehicle. The café is a succession of small rooms and nooks furnished with antiques. You can also choose to sit on the terrace upstairs to enjoy a real cappuccino or an iced coffee. Some snacks are on the menu.

Opened in late 2018, Clubb 18 is Fort Kochi's only place to have a drink and dance at night. It is located in Hotel 18, close to the pier for Vypeen Island. The music is quite loud inside, and not necessarily in the best taste, but you can go out on the terrace to chat with your friends. But don't expect the frenetic atmosphere of the clubs in Mumbai or Delhi! If you are a single man, you will have a little difficulty to enter, better to be accompanied. Correct dress is required and a search at the entrance.

Located in an old and beautiful restored building, close to Adventure Park, the 8 Point Art Cafe organizes temporary exhibitions, dance shows, concerts (check the Facebook page of the establishment to know the program which varies constantly). It is a unique and unmissable place in Kollam gathering the youth of the city. The café area with a large open-air terrace offers drinks as well as snacks. The menu could be expanded as it is a great place to hang out.

A newcomer to Princess Street! Trouvaille is a modern café with a minimalist design, brick walls, wooden furniture and a warm atmosphere. On the menu: excellent coffees (espresso, latte, cappuccino) offered iced or hot, iced teas, as well as very good pastries (strawberry cheesecake, lemon pie, chocolate cake...). Everything is made with care, the team is friendly and the atmosphere is provided by a discreet lo-fi music. Perfect for a gourmet break between your visits.
