AIR SEYCHELLES

Airlines €€
5/5

There are at least twenty flights a day to Mahé (about a quarter of an hour away), and as many in the other direction (usually five more on early Monday mornings). The starting price is €100 for a one-way flight. Bookings can be made through tour operators or directly with Air Seychelles (at the office in Mahé or on the airline's website). A good alternative to the boat, especially if you're staying in the Grand'Anse or Amitié areas of Praslin or on the east coast of Mahé.

AIR SEYCHELLES

By summer 2023, the national airline Air Seychelles was no longer operating flights to and from Paris. Internationally, it only operated flights to Mauritius, South Africa, the Maldives and India. But this national airline is still a good choice for inter-island flights to and from Praslin. With almost twelve rotations a day, it's obviously a good alternative to the very popular ferries. Especially as the views from Air Seychelles' small planes promise to be fantastic.

The island's small airport welcomes Air Seychelles flights to and from Mahé. Count 150 SR to reach Grand'Anse by taxi. There are two shops at the departure terminal, including the South African jeweler Jouel, also present in Mahé (Eden Island, Kenwyn House in Victoria). From pearl pendants to gemstone jewellery at a much higher price, you should find what you are looking for! The tourist office of Mahé has an annex in the airport.

The international airport is just a few kilometers south of Victoria. With duty-free stores, cafés, bureaux de change, travel agencies, car rental companies, telephone kiosks and even... a Burger King, you'll find everything you need. To leave the airport, if you don't have a rental car, there's a bus stop just across the street (12 SR a ticket) and cabs waiting for you. Allow SR400 for Eden Island, SR600 for the pier, SR800 for Beau Vallon and SR1,000 for the west coast hotels.

BUS - SPTC

Coach operator

Some 8 million passengers are carried annually by the Seychelles Public Transport Corporation (SPTC). This is a real public service since the low ticket price (to be taken from the driver; remember to have change) allows Seychellois to travel to every corner of Mahé and Praslin and tourists to all the hotels. The frequency of passage varies according to the lines: a quarter of an hour for the main lines, but 30 minutes or 1 hour for others. Be careful, on Sundays, the service is reduced (about one bus out of two).

Etihad also operates the code share with the national airline Air Seychelles (in which it holds a stake) for flights between Paris and Mahé airport. CHEZ MICHELIN BIKE RENTAL

Public transport

This is the historic address to rent a two-wheeler at La Digue! Rightly so, since Michelin is the oldest bike rental company on the island. The Michelin family doesn't just rent bikes, it also welcomes people in its adjoining guesthouse. If you need 150 SR to pedal on the diguois trails, the price is decreasing for those who have the good idea to stay longer on the island (up to 100 SR per day). A must, this Michelin!
