Read moreFormer ballroom of the Italian Embassy inaugurated in 1949 by Princess Labia. The place is the oldest art house cinema in the country. The whole has its charm, even though the old hall has been divided in two and its splendour can no longer be fully appreciated. A total of 4 slightly old-fashioned cinemas, but the programming, the atmosphere and the low prices guarantee the quality of the show! The Labia also has two modern halls on Kloof Street in the shopping centre. The programming is a little more commercial, but the prices are the same.

The Baxter regularly organizes internships or workshops for young people from disadvantaged communities as well as the annual Baxter Zabalaza Theatre Festival for young theatre talent.

All the major troupes pass through this hall, which can accommodate more than 1,000 people, the Opera House.
