One week before Easter, the Dominicans cease all activity and devote themselves to the . A celebration that takes place all over the country.

During Semana Santa, the week before Easter Monday, the country stops living and... celebrates! You can't find a hotel room for weeks in advance on the coast, you can't find a car to rent, and the country is full. It is madness in the tourist places, on the beaches, in the street, in the discotheques, the day like the night. In the middle of the festivities, from Thursday midnight to Friday midnight, the music stops everywhere in the country before resuming in a dizzying din until Sunday night.
