On 28 November, in Tirana, a large rally is organised in the city centre around the statue of the national hero Skanderbeg.

Also known as Independence Day, Flag Day is the celebration of the declaration of Albanian independence, when the national colours were first hoisted in Vlora on 28 November 1912. In Tirana, a large rally is organised in the city centre around the statue of the national hero Skanderbeg. For many Albanians, it is an opportunity to march noisily wearing the colours red and black proudly. Also note how the younger ones mimic the double-headed eagle with both hands whose thumbs cross each other.
