The Atelier des Lumières is a former foundry from the 19th century where the first digital art centre in Paris was created. The great painters are often in the spotlight and at the moment, Monet, Renoir and Chagall are in the spotlight as well as Yves Klein and his infinite blue. But with THE LAST SENTINEL, here we are in Jimmy NELSON's photographic universe. Hundreds of photos that take us for 40 minutes to the heart of the last indigenous cultures and landscapes of the world. These peoples who live in harmony with nature are celebrated in their diversity and the photos are absolutely sublime

All the space of the old foundry is well used and gives an incredible relief to the diversity of these peoples. We are at the heart of the photos which are also often videos and which give us absolutely striking moments of life. It is poetic, artistic and at the same time a reflection on their relationship with nature and the need to protect it. Jimmy NELSON is there every weekend to sign his book and exchange (in English), he is a great traveller who loves to share and does it with a lot of sensitivity

If we start with a few landscapes to reach the community, we soon find ourselves near water, source of life, then the joy of daily life, traditions and the incredible energy of the festivities to the rhythm of music, songs and dances that invade the walls. The portraits are magnificent and make you want to go further. With Jimmy NELSON, it is the harmony between human beings and nature that we find these few evenings.

Atelier des Lumières, 38 rue Saint Maur in Paris 11th ; 16 evenings from 16 to 31 October by reservation from their website
