ALMIGHTY ART WORK

Art galleries

Next to the Suame traffic circle, this Ghanaian painter's open-air store is the largest in the country. The paintings are scattered right and left, under a table, at the back of a hut, on the sidewalk... Their message is imbued with a powerful faith in the Almighty. Brush in hand, Almigthy God gives his instructions to the apprentices. His charisma is impressive, and everyone drinks in his words. If he's away giving a lecture at university, his wife Faustina will be happy to welcome you. Expect to pay at least 150/200 US$ for a painting.

Aburi Crafts Village

Gift ideas

Many Rastas living in Aburi work with wood. They have set up their workshops just before the entrance to the town. Not all stores are open at the same time, but many are open all week, and prices are generally better than in Accra. We recommend a visit to the Aburi Crafts Village, where you'll find a wide range of creations spread across the stalls of this open-air shopping mall. Nana Rita Marley also has a store selling Bob Marley and Wailers merchandise.

Francis Besi SHOP

Fashion store

Located on the main road, parallel to the sea line, between the Alaska Beach Club and the African Rainbow Resort, Francis' small shop is worth a look. A talented tailor with a long experience, he offers rather original pieces (t-shirts made of rice sack fabric for example) and others more classic, but always with a certain research. If you have at least 24 hours, Francis will take your measurements and make you a custom-made garment in the fabric of your choice.
