The park offers a superb setting for a film at dusk, with the lake in the background, the sun setting over the Mont-Blanc massif, the city lights and the moonlight. Not to be missed! In summer, the Théâtre de Orangerie is at the heart of an extremely pleasant setting, at the top of the Parc Lagrange, in a garden next to the two greenhouses. Built in the ^19th century, the venue has retained its original dual function as a small theater in summer and a greenhouse for orange trees in winter. It offers a short but intense season of fine classics from the theatrical repertoire, lesser-known plays and contemporary creations. The bistro La Terrazza de l'Orangerie offers food and drink before and after the show. There's even dancing!

One of the best-known venues for local party-goers, offering a wide range of cultural events. An alternative concert hall founded in 1983, first in the former hospital (replaced by the youth hostel) and then in various factories, offering a high-quality program of Swiss and foreign artists. This bilingual association organizes weekday concerts by international headliners in all musical styles, and live DJs with a techno electro house edge at weekends. A great dynamic and always a good address!

Initially intended to offer various activities to students and young researchers at the EPFL (Ecole polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne), the Satellite association, created in 1984, organises shows in its bar open to all: jazz and rock concerts, café-theatres, jam sessions, slams, fun evenings... On Friday evenings, there are few people who, before going out on the town, don't come and drink a beer in this friendly atmosphere where the price is unbeatable for the town, comfortably seated in stoned sofas.

This imposing venue boasts excellent acoustics. It offers a very rich program of excellent quality. A "must" in terms of Geneva outings. In the heart of Geneva, this 1920-built venue hosts musical performances in a baroque design interior. It's one of Geneva's leading cultural stages for contemporary music, with concerts of jazz and world music, including Brazilian soul, African, Oriental and Mediterranean music, as well as ballets - not to be missed!

Small art cinema managed by an association that offers a varied programming of short and feature films, fiction and documentaries. Every summer, Zinéma organizes open-air screenings in the Mon-Repos park, 10 Toiles sous les Étoiles, and free of charge! We also love this address for the brunch offered on Sundays from 10am to 2pm, which allows you to travel around the world and surf on new culinary trends thanks to the know-how of the guest restaurateurs. A must for many occasions!

The programming is very varied, and favors the screening of works by Swiss authors and international directors. One Thursday a month, the Ciné Seniors program offers great classics of the seventh art, with themes ranging from comedy to tragedy. The association regularly updates its website; at the time of writing, it offers great classical operas and ballets every Sunday at 10am. There are also concerts and children's film screenings, the latter scheduled once or twice a month.

Zurich is a city in constant artistic flux. The local scene is always avant-garde and the artists find a way to express themselves because culture is put forward. It is at the Abart that the alternative and underground scene of Zurich has a great time. Concerts more original than the others in the styles rock, indie, gothic, punk without forgetting the metal! It's hard to classify Razzia. There's a bar and a lounge, but the place is much more than just a place to have a drink. This former cinema has been converted into a site for cultural experimentation - and it's free! Fashion shows, films, music, art installations - the program changes all the time and is full of surprises. The venue itself is worth a look: deliberately dilapidated, offbeat but truly stylish, go for it! The restaurant serves original dishes and great cocktails to enjoy before a movie, for example.

In the hushed, comfortable setting of a former cinema, Le Bourg offers an eclectic program: concerts of French chanson, electronic music, jazz, film screenings, readings, comedy, dance... The Bourgllywood (hilarious improvised dubbing) and Avracavabrac (improv) evenings are a must-see. Book in advance to be sure of a place. In summer, the café-théâtre takes its deckchairs, chairs and garden benches and moves under the west arch of the Pont Bessières to become Les Grandes Roches.

A reference in Geneva since 1986 for the promotion of contemporary dance, the association ADC (Association for Contemporary Dance) offers a programme of shows from September to June. An agreement has been signed with the City of Geneva for the creation of cultural events. In addition to the shows, the ADC organises a dance stage at the music festival, the management of a dance documentation centre open to the public and the management of 3 dance studios.

Jazz, this time with an Afro-American twist! One of Geneva's cultural hubs. The Association pour l'encouragement de la musique improvisée (AMR) was founded in 1973 by Geneva musicians involved in the jazz and improvised music scene. Since then, the AMR and its musical center, the "Sud des Alpes", have offered a regular and highly acclaimed musical program from mid-September to mid-June, jam sessions every Tuesday, and an annual festival (the AMR Jazz Festival in spring and the AMR at Les Cropettes at the end of June).

Black music, reggae, hip hop...Le Chat Noir is an essential part of the nightlife scene in Geneva and neighbouring France. This legendary venue is also a bar, club and restaurant. This basement venue, tiny in size but big on quality and diversity (funk, jazz, rock, world music, chanson...), plays host to some 120 groups a year! It's also highly appreciated for the quality of its acoustics. The cocktail bar offers a wide range of whiskies and beers, as well as an infinite palette of original cocktails

Chapeau le Poche! This theater is revolutionizing the world of live art with its contemporary, participatory spirit. Actors you will be, actors you will see. There's real interaction with the audience in this small 130-seat venue. With no fewer than 140 performances a year, you'll be buzzing with excitement every time the curtains open. Poche/GVE is a theater devoted exclusively to the writing of today: you'll see and hear only plays written in the 2010s and beyond.

A place steeped in history and a brilliant conversion of a former neighborhood cinema into a 100-seat theater. Showcasing local artists and independent works is essential to encourage the effervescence of artistic creation. Its watchwords are multidisciplinarity, entertainment and modernity. A theater of creation par excellence, rather than a performance venue like some in Geneva, its small, tiered auditorium remains cosy, fostering proximity and intimacy with the artists.

This Geneva-based company has been presenting its work since 1978. It presents its own shows for the general public, and also hosts productions by other independent theater and dance companies around ten times a year. The theater is quite intimate, allowing for real proximity with its audience (only 200 seats). It also organizes courses and workshops for children aged between 7 and 13 who wish to familiarize themselves with theater, offering them a wide range of experiences. Participates in the Festival de la Bâtie.

It's a small, pocket-sized theater that knows how to convey the magical atmosphere and the joy of seeing a new play, in an intimate setting, where the passion for theater, embodied by the actors and actresses, can be experienced again and again. The "largest of small theaters" allows us to get up close and personal with the audience, a welcome that is much appreciated; after the show, you can meet the actors in the foyer and share your impressions. The theater is close to a small esplanade offering one of the finest views of the Jura mountains and lake below.
