HOTEL DE BROUSSE LA KOMPIENGA
Read moreThis camp camp, created by the ONTB but managed by several French for many years, was a real den of relaxation and, formerly, a base of life for the builders of the dam. Lovely bungalows, huge swimming pool, tennis, volleyball net, excellent catering… Everything rang like a holiday air. After being more or less left to a-bandon and invaded by vegetation, ONTB decided to reopen it at the end of 2008, while seeking a private manager. A few renovation efforts took place, especially for the swimming pool, but the level of comfort of yesteryear had not yet been reached in early 2009. However, it was possible to rent bicycles (5 000 FCFA/day) and the organisation of excursions and canoe rides on the lake were in project. Address to watch therefore!

LE RELAIS
Read moreThe only real hotel in Diébougou seems to take advantage of its monopoly situation to display exorbitant rates relative to the quality of its services. The rooms, all on the floor, have no special stamp, except the small wicker bin in front of each door. The health, located in the back of the corridor, is not in an exemplary clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. At the beginning of 2011, the terrace was under renovation and another building in project (we are assured that the W.C. will then be internal and the prices of the current rooms will fall!).
AUBERGE DJIBOUE (AUBERGE COMMUNALE)
Read moreThis auberge hostel gives the impression of being abandoned. Located in a huge courtyard near the dam, it features well-kept rooms, and the restaurant seems dynamic. There are some guides (including Adrien Bitibaly tel 78 90 37 33) ready to take the visitor to the nearby caves. A pleasant walk allows you to cross a small section of the forest of Diébougou, to climb the caves and then return to the hostel by the dam.
AUBERGE NORD-SUD
Read moreSimeon Sawadogo, retired since 2003, has transformed his villa into a guest room. Comfort is rather summary and it is regrettable that the environment of the pavilions is not better maintained, but the atmosphere is family. The North-South hostel mainly hosts associations.
CAMPING DE DJOMGA – ONTB
Read moreAbout 7 km from the city, in the oasis of the same name, you can find on a small dune a campsite with the original architecture. This camp managed by ONTB is unfortunately still not fully functional in 2009. The staff, a bit sorry by the situation, remains friendly. Some travellers still spend their nights sleeping on the beautiful star. At the bottom of the small dune, a botanical garden and a nursery. An address to monitor.

GITE DE L’OUDALAN
Read moreSuperb camp located in a large sandy courtyard on the outskirts of Markoye. The bougainvillea punctuate the courtyard and the frame is sublime, inviting to walk. The rooms are clean and well decorated. It is also possible to spend the night with the beautiful star. In addition, the camp places its local guides at the disposal of travellers to discover Markoye and its surroundings, but also the rest of the Sahel: Oursi, Bani, Gangani (a traditional Bella village on the Beli) and beyond borders, Mali and Niger. The cottage also offers slug strolls and initiation courses to the bronze technique. Finally, a little more valuable, the cottage is associated with the Friends of the Sahel, whose actions support the maternity and school of the village. During our investigation at the beginning of 2009, we were unable to visit the camp.
