On the evening of 15 April 2019, France and the whole world hold their breath and come back from the images shown on television screens: the roof of Notre-Dame de Paris Cathedral is on fire, before the astonished eyes of many Parisians and passers-by who have come to gather around the monument. Despite the intervention of the firemen and a lot of hard work, the famous spire, the work of Viollet-le-Duc, ends up collapsing. It will take about 15 hours for the fire to be brought under control and to start assessing the damage. The comic strip "Notre-Dame de Paris. La nuit du feu" proposes to go back over the circumstances of the tragedy and try to understand it better. It also looks back at key moments in the construction and history of the building. The comic book was produced in support of the Notre-Dame Foundation and is the result of teamwork between scriptwriters Arnaud Delalande and Yvon Bertorello, cartoonist Cédric Fernandez and historical adviser Stéphane Bern.
