Day 1: Los Angeles

Welcome to the City of Angels!

This evening, head to Olvera Street to enjoy a typical Mexican meal.

Day 2: Los Angeles

Today, get a look behind the scenes with a Hollywood movie studio tour. We recommend Universal Studios for families, or Warner Bros.

Along the way, discover the most beautiful neighborhoods in Beverly Hills, home to the biggest stars in Hollywood.

It's a well-known fact: L.A. beaches are legendary. Visit Santa Monica Beach for a touch of upscale chic: a great place to do some shopping.

Venice Beach has a more bohemian vibe. It's the artists' district of Los Angeles.

Go to Venice Beach for its more bohemian side. It is the artists' district of Los Angeles.

Day 3: Los Angeles / Las Vegas (451 km)

Steps: Las Vegas

Today you head for the most eccentric destination in the western United States: Las Vegas.

Take a walk along the Strip, a stretch of Las Vegas Boulevard lined with a thousand and one casinos and hotels, each one more flamboyant than the last. The most impressive are the Wynn, Treasure Island and The Venetian.

In the evening, don't miss the spectacular fountain show at the Bellagio Hotel. It's an iconic Las Vegas attraction.

Day 4: Las Vegas / Grand Canyon (438 km)

Steps: Grand Canyon National Park

Set a course for South Rim in the eastern part of Grand Canyon National Park, the most spectacular section of the canyon.

Along the way, get your kicks on the legendary Route 66. Be sure to stop off in Hackberry, a tiny village rebuilt in 1930s style, complete with diners, motels, old-time gas pumps and vintage tin road signs.

Begin your discovery of the Grand Canyon at Mather Point, unquestionably the most beautiful viewpoint in the park. Despite the number of visitors, the silence is overwhelming before the majesty of the Grand Canyon.

Day 5: Grand Canyon

Steps: Grand Canyon National Park

Don't miss Hermit Road in Grand Canyon National Park.

This road can be explored on foot and/or by shuttle bus. Follow the road to Mohave Point, a scenic overlook offering a breathtaking panoramic view to the west. You will literally feel as though you are floating over the Grand Canyon!

Desert View Drive at sunset is also spectacular. Lipan Point, in particular, is the perfect spot to enjoy colourful sunset vistas.

Day 6: Grand Canyon / Monument Valley (371 km)

Steps: Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park

The adventure continues with an iconic symbol of the Far West and the American western: Monument Valley.

Be sure to take the Monument Valley scenic drive, the best way to enjoy the beauty of these legendary landscapes.

John Ford's Point is without a shadow of a doubt the most spectacular location in the region, and is also the most accessible. You'll have no reason to miss it!

Day 7: Monument Valley / Lake Powell (279 km)

Steps: Lake Powell

Today you head for Lake Powell. The contrast between the clear blue waters of the lake and the surrounding stark red sandstone rocks is quite spectacular.

But just before reaching your destination, make a stop at Horseshoe Bend. It's a 30-minute round trip that will give you a breathtaking view of the Colorado River.

Antelope Canyon, a magnificent slot canyon at the end of Lake Powell, will leave you speechless with the play of light and colour on its walls.

Day 8: Lake Powell / Bryce Canyon (233 km)

Steps: Bryce Canyon National Park

Today's destination is Bryce Canyon, certainly one of the most spectacular parks in the southwestern United States.

Bryce Canyon National Park is a forest of sandstone spires and pillars (hoodoos) set in the hollow of a natural amphitheatre.

Hiking enthusiasts won't want to miss the Queens Garden trail where they can get a close look at the stone columns and arches. It's like being on a different planet!

At sunset, the views from Sunset Point are breathtaking as the park's features explode into a kaleidoscope of colours.

Day 9: Bryce Canyon / Zion (216 km)

Steps: Zion National Park

Your route continues in the direction of Zion National Park.

Zion meant "paradise" for the Mormons who discovered this place, reflecting the strong impression left by these picture-perfect landscapes.

Take the Mount Carmel Highway, preferably from east to west, to enjoy the best views of the canyon.

A stop at Canyon Overlook is a must to admire the singular beauty of this remarkable park.

Day 10: Zion / Death Valley (415 km)

Steps: Death Valley National Park

This morning, set out to discover Death Valley.

Your best option is to take Route 190 and drive to Dante's View, where you will enjoy a vast panorama of desert and sand dunes.

Then continue on to Furnace Creek, a real oasis in the middle of the desert.

Important note: Temperatures can reach 45 degrees Celsius (110 degrees Fahrenheit) in the valley in July and August. You are strongly advised to visit early in the morning or at the end of the afternoon and to bring plenty of water.

Day 11: Death Valley / Mammoth Lakes (291 km)

Steps: Mammoth Lakes

Your destination today is Mammoth Lakes, a resort town nestled in the Sierra Nevada mountains, named after Mammoth Mountain and the basin of lakes in the valley.

This will be a day of contrasts as you drive from the desert to the snowy peaks of the Sierra Nevada.

The scenery will leave you speechless!

Day 12: Mammoth Lakes / Yosemite (164 km)

Steps: Yosemite National Park

This morning, take the famous Tioga Road, a scenic high mountain road that runs through the northern section of Yosemite National Park, today's destination.

Make your way to the Yosemite Valley section of the park and stop at Tunnel View viewpoint, which offers breathtaking scenery and an expansive view of the park.

Families and less energetic visitors will love the trail to Lower Yosemite Falls. An easy 30-minute walk (round-trip) leads to postcard-worthy scenery.

Important note: If you are travelling between October and May, Tioga Road will be closed due to excessive snow at high altitudes. In this case, we will have to modify your route to pass further south.

Day 13: Yosemite / San Francisco (315 km)

Next you head for San Francisco, the most European (and most tolerant) of American cities.

San Francisco has so much to offer...

To begin your stay, why not go to the top floor of the De Young Museum, where you can enjoy the best view of the city?

And a tour of Alcatraz prison at nightfall is a truly exceptional experience.

Day 14: San Francisco

Be sure to ride the famous cable car early in the morning, to avoid the crowds: a truly iconic San Francisco experience.

Take the children to watch the sea lions at Fisherman's Wharf or the marine animals at the Bay Aquarium.

And at the end of the day, why not walk across the Golden Gate Bridge? The bridge at sunset is a truly magical moment!

Day 15: San Francisco

Enjoy the final moments of your American vacation before heading to the San Francisco airport, where you board your flight home.

It's time to say goodbye to the land of Uncle Sam, filled with beautiful memories that will last a lifetime!!!
