Day 2: Visit of the Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast it is time for the famous Ngorongoro Crater, drive from the lodge to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You will drive down to the crater floor with our 4x4 vehicle for game viewing, where you will witness some of the most beautiful scenery in the world.

"The Ngorongoro Conservation Area has the best mix of landscape, wildlife, people and archaeological sites in Africa. Often referred to as the "African Eden." The Ngorongoro Crater, a World Heritage Site, is the world's largest unbroken, unflooded caldera - 19.2 km (12 miles) in diameter, 610 m (2,000 feet) deep and 304 km2 (117 square miles) in area.

ngorongoro is a huge, deep volcanic crater. There are rich pastures, swamps, forest and permanent water on the crater floor, which is why the wildlife is so diverse and numerous. The crater floor is home to the largest mammal population and you can spot the big 5 here in a relatively small area that is simply beautiful.

After the safari, enjoy your picnic lunch at the Ngoitoktok spring in the crater.

In the afternoon, return to Arusha. Depending on your departure time, transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport to connect your flight back home with fond memories of your Tanzania vacation. *** End of Safari. ***
