Day 1: Arrival in Islamabad

Steps: Islamabad

Visit Faisal Mosque and then walk through the Margallas to admire the city from the heights and dine on the top of the mountains.

Day 2: Departure to Lahore

Steps: Lahore, Peshawar

Visit some of the architectural treasures of the Mughal era: the Fort and the Badshahi Mosque. Lose yourself in the old town and dine on the terrace (at Cuckoo's Den for example) with a view of the illuminated mosque.

Day 3: Mogholes wonders

Steps: Lahore, Wagah Border

Continue exploring with a visit to Emperor Jehangir's mausoleum and Shalamar Gardens. Head to the Wagah border to attend the unique border closure ceremony.

Day 4: Road to Bahawalpur

Steps: Lahore, Peshawar, Bahawalpur

Get up at dawn and have breakfast in the old town that is waking up slowly. Take a few hours to visit the Lahore Museum and head to Bahawalpur, if possible by train to admire the Punjabian landscape.

Day 5: Discovery of the city

Steps: Bahawalpur

Stroll through the Bazar Bazaar and visit the Al-Sadiq mosque. Even if it is not possible to visit it from the inside, the palace Noor Mahal is worth a visit. Go to Uch Sharif, 75 km from Bahawalpur. Lose yourself in the streets of this mystical city, visit the Sufi temples and stop drinking a chaï with the locals. Go spending the night in Bahawalpur.

Day 6: Direction the desert of Cholistan

Steps: Bahawalpur

After a visit to Derawar Fort and the adjacent mosque, have lunch with the inhabitants in their traditional homes. Return to Bahawalpur before sunset.

Day 7: Visit to the "City of the Saints"

Steps: Multan

Go and discover Multan. Discover its sumptuous Sufi temples and observe the faithful who come to pray. A visit to the pottery institute will allow you to see the craftsmen's manual work and buy some souvenirs. End your day by walking around one of the city's bazaars.

Day 8: Local culture

Steps: Islamabad

Come back toIslamabad, learn more about the country's cultures and traditions at the Lok Virsa Museum. Enjoy delicious Pakistani specialities at the Andaaz restaurant in the picturesque village of Saidpur.

Day 9: Around the capital

Steps: Jhelum, Taxila, Khewra, Islamabad

Depending on your desires, several visits are possible. You can visit the salt mines of Khewra about 180 kilometres awayIslamabador the archaeological ruins of Taxila, about an hour's drive away. If you want to relax, you can go for a picnic and a swim at Khanpur Lake, about 50 kilometres away.

Day 10: Rawalpindi's colourful markets

Steps: Rawalpindi

Explore the city of Rawalpindi, visit the Rajah bazaar and buy some souvenirs in truck art.
