The road between Labasa and Savusavu is very picturesque. Arrive in Savusavu and explore the town and bay.

Day 6: Heading for Sau Bay

Departure for Buca Bay. A two-hour drive through lush vegetation, villages and schools. The journey is a little bumpy, but allows you to see Fiji in all its authenticity, far from the resorts. Arrival at Buca Bay, boarding for Sau Bay to be arranged with the resort. Installation. You're in Sau Bay, far from everything, the only access point is by boat, there are no roads. A relaxing day discovering the seabed and swimming. Possibility of a hike to the highest point of the island, offering a beautiful view across the bay to Taveuni.

Day 7: Rest in Sau Bay

Enjoy a relaxing day in Sau Bay or explore the seabed, with diving trips to Rainbow Reef organized by your resort. As an alternative to Sau Bay, you can also stay at Viani Bay.

Day 8: Taveuni Island

Steps: Matei, Somosomo

Depart Sau Bay by boat for Civa Pearl Farm and, if it's a Sunday, be sure to attend mass at the impressive Catholic mission church in Wairiki. With or without faith, you'll be moved by the beauty of the singing! Not to be missed.

Day 9: Hiking in the rainforest

Steps: Bouma National Heritage Park, Lavena

Hiking day in Bouma or Lavena National Park. Allow three and a half hours to explore the native forest and above all punctuate your stops with a swim in each waterfall.

Day 10: A morning of birdsong

Taveuni, nicknamed the Garden Island, is very well preserved in terms of flora and fauna. Of Fiji's 26 endemic bird species, Taveuni is home to 20. Several tours offer birdwatching. You'll need to get up very early to hear the morning song of the parrot and local doves.

Day 11: Visit to a local school

Steps: Somosomo

Children, less accustomed to tourists than in Viti Levu, will be delighted by your visit. Don't forget to bring notebooks or pens. In the afternoon, visit Taveuni's natural waterslide, the famous Waitavala Waterslide. A sort of natural water park in the middle of the bush!
