Day 1: From Brindisi to Lecce

Steps: Brindisi, Lecce

In the high season, flights arrive directly at Brindisi. You will then join the city of Lecce, a baroque capital which was formerly called the "Athens des Puglia" since founded by the Greeks. Night in Lecce.

Day 2: Gallipoli

Steps: Gallipoli, Porto Cesareo

Departure for Gallipoli, from the Greek Kallipolis meaning "beautiful city". Important city of Magna Graecia, it had a large territory that included what is today Porto Cesareo. Overnight stay in Gallipoli.

Day 3: Taranto

Steps: Taranto

Departure for Taranto and visit of the city and its national museum, the only place where it is possible to fully explore the historical and artistic cycle of Taranto in the Greek era.

Day 4: Metaponte

Steps: Sulmona, Crotone

Departure for Metapontum, founded around 700/690 BC by Greeks from Crotone and Sybaris and which hosted Pythagoras. Visit the archaeological museum and the palatine tables, the ruins of the columns of a 6th century BC temple dedicated to the goddess Hera. Night in Metaponte.

Day 5: Et and Eraclea

Steps: Policoro

Visit of Policoro and Ereclea, close to each other. Balade, made famous by the Battle that pitted Pyrrhic I and the Romans in 280 BC, then visits the archaeological site of Eraclea and the ruins of his Greek theatre. Night around Policoro.

Day 6: Sibari

Steps: Sibari

City of the Great Greece, Sybaris was a colony of Crati. The city was famous for its immense wealth: wheat and wine harvests, domination over the Lucanians and trade in wool and fabrics. Night in Sibari.

Day 7: Road from Sibari to Brindisi

Steps: Brindisi

It's time to go back home. If your plane takes off from Brindisi, count on at least 2 hours of driving time, the two cities being 200 km apart from each other.
