Day 1: Arrival in Cayenne
Steps: Cayenne
Arrival at Felix Eboué airport. Stroll on the historic Palmist square, followed by a drink on site. Feel free to taste the famous madras in one of the many mobile trucks that run along the square. Night in Cayenne.
Day 2: Kourou and the Salvation Islands
Steps: Île Royale, Kourou
In the morning, departure for Kourou and the Salvation Islands by catamaran. Guided tour of the remains of the prison during the day, swimming. Night in a hammock in the old convicts' dormitory or in an air-conditioned room, with a view on the sea.

Day 3: Visit of the island of Saint-Joseph
Steps: Kourou, Île Saint-Joseph
Visit of the island of Saint-Joseph in the morning. Departure in the afternoon: tasting of the famous local ice cream along Lake Kourou and visit of the city. Night in Kourou.
Day 4: Space center and caimans
Visit to the Guiana Space Center (CSG). Afternoon: visit to the Montsinery zoo. Late afternoon: departure for the Kaw nature reserve - evening dedicated to caiman observation in the marsh.

Day 5: Insect Museum
Wake up in the swamp. Departure for the Cacao market, where you can sample the local specialties. Afternoon: visit to the Insect Museum, then back to Cayenne for a stroll around Place des Amandiers.
Day 6: The historical centre of Cayenne
Steps: Cayenne, Rémire-Montjoly
Guided tour of the historic centre of Cayenne or Museum of Guyanese Cultures in the morning. Lunch on the county by the river. Afternoon: Rorota / Montabo trail. Walk on the beach of Les Salines at sunset to enjoy the laying of sea turtles (between April and July). Night in Rémire or Cayenne.

Day 7: Last day before return
Steps: Cayenne, Awala-Yalimapo, Mana, Javouhey, Saül
In the morning, souvenir shopping on Avenue du Général-de-Gaulle, fresh fruit and vegetables at the market, a visit to the fish market and lunch on site: Vietnamese soups. Beach or relaxation before take-off.
Another option is to head directly west to Saint-Laurent, where you can spend a few days discovering Javouhey, Mana and the Amerindian villages ofAwala-Yalimapo. On the Maroni River, whether it's the descent (4 days) or the ascent (5 days), if your budget allows it (around €500) and the weather is favorable, don't hesitate to treat yourself to this beautiful excursion!
It allows you to sleep in riverside camps, meet the local population and sample authentic cuisine. If your guide is friendly, he or she will share many anecdotes and stories from the tradition of the Black Maroons and, as the icing on the cake, you'll fly over Amazonian Guyana in a Twin Otter, a small plane with 15 seats (either on the outward or return journey).
In seven days, it's also possible to set off directly for Saül and organize a tour of the forest.
