Stay : Escapade on Maori soil
Aotearoa, "the land of the long white cloud". This is how the Maori referred to the land that welcomed them in the 13th century, long before Abel Tasman or James Cook crossed the oceans to covet its borders. If you're visiting Auckland and only have a few days to spare, why not follow this itinerary, in the footsteps of the archipelago's first inhabitants?

Day 1: Auckland and Waitakere Ranges
Steps: Auckland
Arrive in Auckland and take a morning stroll through the city center before heading to the province's largest regional park, Waitakere Ranges, half an hour from the city. The walk through this lush and serene forest area will take you to a panoramic viewpoint over Auckland and the Pacific Ocean. On the way, you can admire some Maori sculptures surrounded by kauris. Return to Auckland for the night.
Day 2: A little history in Waitangi
Steps: Cape Reinga
Let's head for Northland, a wonderful region in many ways, where Polynesian culture is prevalent and accepted. After a walk in Cape Reinga, a sacred place for Maori, we will head to Waitangi, the place where the eponymous Treaty was signed. It was this agreement, concluded on 6 February 1840 between the Maori and the British Crown, that confirmed the United Kingdom's sovereignty over New Zealand.
