Day 1: Matamata, village of Rings
Arrive in Auckland, then 2 hours drive to Matamata on one of the best preserved sites of the trilogy: Matamata, who houses The Shire site, says Hobbiton. Lunch at Shire Rest where many goodies are found elsewhere (the Lord of the Rings beer, Ian Brodie's guide, etc.).

Day 2: Tongariro, Décor decor
Steps: National Park Village
During the morning or early morning, go to Tongariro National Park and take the famous hiking, Tongariro Alpine crossing, in the Décors.
TONGARIRO ALPINE CROSSING
Day 3: Weta Cave
Steps: Wellington
Visit of Weta Cave to Wellington, a world renowned workshop on special effects and costume fabrication, which has worked on the saga.
WETA CAVE
Day 4: Mount Sunday (Edoras)
Steps: Christchurch, Aoraki Mount Cook National Park
Flight to Christchurch and a day spent hiking to Edoras (Mount Sunday), the capital of Rohan and home of King Theoden. You can even see Mount Cook from a distance, if the weather is mild
Day 5: Twizel (Battle of Pelennor Fields)
Steps: Twizel
Visit the places of a mythical battle, the Pelennor Fields (Twizel).
Day 6: Alexandra
Steps: Alexandra
Alexandra offers various interesting sites, including the farmers'village looted and burned in the country of Rohan and the canyon where Merry and Pipin, led by the Killer Whales, sow a broche broche in index to their companions.
Day 7: Helicopter tour in Queenstown
Steps: Queenstown
At Queenstown, it's time or never to take the helicopter to fly through several shooting sites, including the majestic landscapes of the Anduin River, one of Peter Jackson's favorite places.
