Day 9: Waimea Canyon

Steps: Waimea, Waimea Canyon State Park

Leave early in the morning to travel to the Waimea Canyon (1h). The Waimea Canyon is a must of Kauai! With its rocky mountains in the unreal landforms, it was nicknamed the Grand canyon of the Pacific. Stop at the two most beautiful point of views on the canyon: the Puu Hina Hina Lookout. Complete this approach with a hike in the canyon (from 1 hour and half to 3 hours according to its form). Plan a picnic.

The green and sharp mountains of the sublime are not accessible by road. The three ways to get there are: on foot, by sea or by air. Going back to Lihue on a plane and making a stop to the Wailua river and visit Fern Grotto.
