Day 1: San Francisco, Downtown

Steps: San Francisco

Visit the SFMOMA in the SoMa neighborhood. Head north to Union Square. Continue into Chinatown and tour the neighborhood. Climb Nob Hill for the view and Huntington Park Square. Visit Grace Cathedral and enter the luxury hotels. Take the Powell-Mason Street cable car and get off at Green Street. Visit North Beach and spend the evening in the area.

Day 2: Alcatraz and the heights of San Francisco

Steps: San Francisco

Departing from Pier 33 for Alcatraz. Don't forget to book your tickets one week in advance to leave early in the morning. sit of Alcatraz. From the boat, view on the bay, the Golden Gate Bridge and the Financial District with the Transamerica Pyramid of San Francisco. Back on the dock, take the Powell-Hyde Street line on the cable car as and get out at Lombard Street. Discovery of Russian Hill. Get out on Union Street in Marina & . Do shopping at Union Street. Go up Fillmore Street to reach Pacific Heights. Visit of Japantown and dinner in the neighbourhood. Spend the rest of the evening in the Tenderloin's bars.

Day 3: Designers, Hippies and Golden Gate Park

Discovery of Hayes Valley area with shopping session in the shops of local designers. Alamo Square tour for the panorama on the Financial District with Victorian houses in the foreground. Walk in Lower Haight then in Young Museum or the Japanese Tea Garden. Dine and spend the evening in the neighbourhood.

Day 4: Geographic, administrative and historical heart of San Francisco

On Sundays, start the day at Glide Memorial Church's 9 am mass. Otherwise, depart from Civic Center square, the administrative heart of San Francisco. Visit of the Asian Art Museum. Take the line F of the streetcar to reach the San Francisco. Walk through the Castro and lunch. Reach Mission Dolores, historic heart of the city and visit. eak in Dolores Park. Day 5: Marin County

Rent bikes and ride along the bay in Marina and the Presidio. Cross the Golden Gate Bridge. Lunch in Sausalito. After a break in the city, go to Tiburon. Take the ferry back to San Francisco. Dinner in Russian Hill, on Hyde Street and evening in the bars of Marina.

Day 6: East Bay

Steps: San Francisco

Go to Oakland on BART early in the day. Discovery of Old Oakland and Art Deco architecture of the city. Take again the BART and go to Berkeley. Visit the campus and stroll on Telegraph Avenue. Dinner in the Gourmet Ghetto and return to San Francisco late in the evening.

Day 7: Sonoma Valley or Half Moon Bay

Steps: San Francisco

To go to Sonoma Valley, rent a car in San Francisco, cross the Golden Gate Bridge and join Sonoma. Enjoy lunch on the city square. Take Arnold Drive to Glen Ellen. Visit THE Jack London Park. Take the Highway 12 and stop in a few wineries before returning to San Francisco.
