Day 1: Arrival in Chicago

Flights generally arrive late in the afternoon. Walk around the hotel, no precise visit, just a first contact with the city, and a good night to recover from jet lag.

Day 2: Visit the Loop

Steps: Chicago

There is nothing like climbing to the 94th floor of the Hancock Tower in the Gold Coast district to discover the city. Enjoy a splendid view of the downtown skyline and get a feel for the different neighborhoods. Walk on Michigan Avenue, called the "Magnificent Mile", with its superb buildings(Tribune Tower, Wrigley Building, shopping malls...), then walk down to the Loop district for a stroll in the skyscraper forest. Different visits possible: Chicago Temple, Chicago Board of Trade, or a simple walking tour. Lunch at Atwood, a superb restaurant in the Burnham Hotel. In the afternoon, guided tour of the Loop and its architecture organized by the ArchiCenter, Chicago's leading architectural center. In the evening, walk and dinner in Millennium Park, Chicago's famous park, and its famous bean-shaped mirror by Anish Kapoor.

Day 3: Museums, Culture and Architecture

Steps: Chicago

In the morning, if you are a family with children, visit the Museum Campus in the south of Grant Park and its three beautiful attractions: the Shedd Aquarium, the Adler Planetarium. You could spend the whole day there, there are many things to see. If you are with your friends, discover the exciting Chicago and the four surrounding States: Michigan, Illinois, Wisconsin and Indiana. If you still want to discover art works, you can also visit the Museum of Contemporary Art, next to Michigan Avenue, the opportunity to tour the Mag Mile. In the evening, stay in the north of Chicago River and dine in the River North area.

Day 4: Lincoln Park and its residential garden styles

Why not looking for a little calm in a park? Go to Lincoln Park in north of the city centre for a free tour of the Chicago. 

Day 5: Navy Pier and the River North Art Galleries

Steps: Chicago

In the morning, visit of the Navy Pier, the vast pontoon on Lake Michigan, with its large wheel, tourist attractions by dozens. Cruise on Lake Michigan aboard one of the many boats departing from Navy Pier. For a deeper discovery of the city, cruise aboard Chicago's , departing from Michigan Avenue Bridge. The company offers the best guided tour of the city (comments are written by the ArchiCenter). In the afternoon, walk, then departure to River North for visiting the art galleries area. In the evening, dine in one of the great River north restaurants.

Day 6: Andersonville and Wrigleyville, the north of Chicago

Steps: Chicago

In the morning, visit of the Swedish district of Chicago. In the afternoon, visit of the Lincoln Park and Armitage Street. Baseball match in the very famous Wrigley Field of Wrigleyville. In the evening, walk along the lake on Oak Beach opposite the Hancock Building.

Day 7: Architectural visit at Oak Park

Steps: Chicago

Take the Green Line to Oak Park to visit the neighbourhood where Frank Lloyd Wright built his house and his architecture studio, as well as over twenty-five houses. Visit of his Chicago and dinner in Randolph Street, west of the Loop.

Day 8: Chinatown and Jackson Park

Steps: Chicago

In the morning, visit of Chinatown in the south of the city centre and then lunch in one of the many local Chinese restaurants. In the afternoon, departure to the Jackson Park . Possible visit of Frank Lloyd Wright and the Chicago Technology University.

Day 9: Indiana Dunes Lakeshore

Steps: Chicago

Car rental in the city centre and early departure to the Indiana Dunes Natural Park. Visit and stroll all day long along the beach, in the forests, at the top of the dunes. A superb arrival on Chicago by the south along Lake Shore Drive, which can be continued north by passing over the Chicago River, before returning the car. Dinner in the Rush Street triangle and tour of the bars of Division/Rush Streets.

Day 10: Greektown and return flight

Steps: Chicago

For the last day, visit of the small Greektown area, passing at Union Station - the very beautiful railway station which served as the film location for the movie Les Incorruptibles -, you can lunch in Greektown. For those who enjoyed the Chicago. Return to the hotel and transfer to the airport.
