Stay : Extended weekend from Lima
Often considered as a simple stage, Lima does not seem to interest the visitors. What a pity! Because indeed, this city has its small corners which do not miss charm, its small secret places. As its old city which is since 1991 classified in the world heritage of the UNESCO. Especially since its surroundings are also full of unsuspected treasures

Day 3: To be in the middle of the desert
It is only in the early morning that you will realize where you are: an oasis in the middle of huge sand dunes. And to make the most of these dunes, what could be better than a buggy ride and a sand board ride? Then motorcycle taxi (10 minutes) to Ica. Guided tour of a bodega to learn more about the production methods of Pisco, the national alcohol that is the basis for many local cocktails. Visit the beautiful Regional Museum of Ica, which traces the chronology of the different cultures present in the region. We see many fabrics, objects and pottery, which bear witness to the life of the past. The most impressive is the room where the mummies and skulls of the trepanes are exposed (surgical operation at the time which consisted in opening the skull, this practice was well mastered). Then, head for Nazca by bus (2h), to spend the night there.

Day 4: The Nazca lines
A small plane will take you to Nazca's lines from the sky. A spectacular moment! No one can be sure what the purpose and/or meaning of these "geoglyphs" (large patterns drawn on the ground) is. One thing cannot be questioned: the wide variety of drawings is about 2,000 years old. There are about 300 of them, and these forms are preserved thanks to the dry and not very rainy climate of the area. The studies did not clarify exactly why these drawings were made. The hypotheses range from the calendar, aqueducts, messages to the gods and even extraterrestrial origin! From all aspects (animals, plants, geometric shapes) and of all sizes (up to 100 metres), the Nazca lines never cease to fascinate us. Then return to Lima by night bus (7 hours of travel).
