Take the very beautiful route 1 to Monterey, known for its beautiful landscapes and beautiful strolls (wooden houses, seals, sea lions, sea elephants, in mid September: World famous jazz festival). Once in Carmel, stop in San Carlos Borroméo, one of the most beautiful Spanish missions. Enjoy the beautiful beaches and coves. Make a little shopping in the elegant shops. Once at Big Sur, green Bohemian place, admire the unspoiled nature.
