Detail of the stay : Discovering Patagonia with your family - 5 days
Day 1: The Milodon Cave
Steps: Punta Arenas, Puerto Natales, Parque Nacional Torres Del Paine
Landing at Punta Arenas. Take the road to Puerto Natales, the gateway to Torres Del Paine. A short walk along the fjord will do no harm before approaching the mountains to visit the Mylodon cave, a 200-metre deep cave once inhabited by an ancestor of the bear who gave it his name. The site has other caves and may justify staying there for a good part of the afternoon. In the evening, don't miss the sunset on the fjord in Puerto Natales!
Day 2: Discovering the Icefields
Steps: Parque Nacional Torres Del Paine, Puerto Natales
Puerto Natales. The two-hour drive to Torres del Paine National Park will allow you to get to know the majestic granite peaks such as "Los Cuernos" and "Las Torres". Head west and take the 3-hour boat to get within a few metres of the incredible Grey Glacier. In the afternoon, head to Lake Pehoe and stop at the various viewpoints that will leave you speechless. Incredible landscapes in sight!
GLACIAR GREY - LAGO GREY
Day 3: Guanacos and pumas
Steps: Puerto Natales
Puerto Natales. Head this time to the eastern part of Torres del Paine National Park. In Laguna Azul, you will meet families of guanacos, these camelids so charming made even more elegant with the mountain range in the background. On the way, make a stop at Cascada Paine, an impressive waterfall that concentrates the millions of litres of water from glaciers. On the way back, observe the local fauna: you might meet the king of Patagonia, the puma, who apparently loves this part of the park.
Day 4: The condors of Laguna Sofia
Steps: Puerto Natales
Puerto Natales. Only 20 minutes drive from the port, discover a postcard landscape with Laguna Sofia, a lagoon surrounded by snow-covered peaks. Here, the condors are kings and perch on the cliffs bordering the lagoon. A short hike (1h30) will take you to the summit of Cerro Benitez, a mountain that loves local condor families and offers you a breathtaking view of the Ultima Esperanza fjord. Unforgettable!
Day 5: Travel, travel
Steps: Puerto Natales
Puerto Natales. Go to the nearest airport or cross the Argentinian border - just a 20-minute drive away - to discover new adventures in this vast territory of Patagonia.
