Day 1: The Sky of Meuse

Steps: Avioth, Montmédy, Stenay

On the first day, discover the Ciel de Meuse, in the north of the department. The Ciel de Meuse will surprise you by the exceptional preservation of its monuments such as the basilica ofAvioth, the citadel of Montmédy, the museum of Beer of Stenay, the Ipoustéguy center of Doulcon in the heart of an exceptional nature.

Day 2: Verdun and its surroundings

The next day, go to Verdun, a symbolic city of the Great War, in the heart of the Meuse. Surrounded by green hills and crossed by the Meuse River, this pleasant city opens up to the Verdun area and its many riches. Then take the road to the Verdun Memorial, in the heart of the battlefield, which offers an exceptional museography. After a good dose of culture and history, take your eyes to the Argonne, a natural territory located west of Verdun and which is a real playground for nature lovers. Day 3: Woëvre plain, Côtes de Meuse and Vallée des Ducs

On the third day, start your day by exploring the vineyards and orchards of the Woëvre plain and the Côtes de Meuse in the east of the department. Finish in beauty by discovering the most discreet valley of the Meuse: the Valley of the Dukes. Let yourself be dazzled by its Renaissance heritage in the upper town of Bar-le-Duc, by the Ornain and Saulx rivers, by the harmonious lines of the Varennes castle in Haironville or the Gilles de Trêves castle in Ville-sur-Saulx, and by the memory of Maginot in the small town of Revigny-sur-Ornain.

Day 4: Discovery of the city of Messina

Steps: Metz

Anchor yourself in Metz, where you can visit the impressive Centre Pompidou as soon as you arrive at the train station. This contemporary art museum is the highlight of the Amphitheater district development project, where it is pleasant to stroll and admire these impressive buildings. Then head to the city center to admire the magnificent Metz Cathedral and its Gothic architecture. The small pedestrian streets in the center are full of all kinds of stores and cute little cafés where you can stop for a break

Day 5: Metz the bucolic

The next day, discover the green spaces of the city: French gardens (Esplanade garden), botanical garden, medicinal plants at the Récollets cloister..

Day 6: Face to face with nature

Steps: Rhodes

Continue your green escapade by exploring the Sainte-Croix Animal Park. There are 1,500 animals living in freedom, on nearly 120 hectares. Playground, animations and shows will delight the whole family

Day 7: Discovery of Sarreguemines

Steps: Sarreguemines

On your last day in Moselle, head for Sarreguemines. From the colorful facades of the banks of the Saar to the bourgeois houses with remarkable architecture, Sarreguemines is full of unsuspected treasures. While strolling around, you will discover the historical center and its prestigious past, inevitably linked to the faience industry of the city.

Day 8: Nancy, one day

Steps: Nancy

Take two days to visit Nancy, its sumptuous Place Stanislas, its art nouveau buildings, its old town and its cobbled streets, the Place de la Carrière, the Villa Majorelle, the Fine Arts Museum and the Lorraine Museum. Between two visits, take a break in the Pépinière park and stroll through its rose garden, which is particularly worth a visit in May. On summer evenings, the Place Stanislas also hosts one of the most beautiful sound and light shows in the region, which you will remember for a long time.

Day 9: Nancy, two days

Depending on your first day in the ducal city, take advantage of this second day to complete your visit of Nancy. It deserves to be visited.

Day 10: Jewels of the Meurthe-et-Moselle heritage

Steps: Lunéville, Nancy, Saint-Nicolas-De-Port

The next day, take the road to Saint-Nicolas-de-Port and Lunéville. Located 12 kilometers from Nancy, Saint-Nicolas-de-Port is best known for its basilica, a jewel of Lorraine. This Gothic masterpiece was built between 1481 and 1560 in honor of St. Nicholas, bishop of Myre. Continue further south to Lunéville, a royal city that houses the Château des Lumière. Classified as a historical monument, it remains one of the most beautiful architectural and landscape ensembles of the 18th century. After the visit, relax in its elegant French garden. A real green lung of the site, the garden and the park of the Bosquets constitute a green setting of 21 hectares

Day 11: Baccarat crystal

On your last day in Meurthe-et-Moselle, go on the glass road to Baccarat. Crossed by the Meurthe river, Baccarat is a city with many assets and surrounded by a beautiful and soothing landscape. The city is particularly associated with the perfection of crystal. The world-famous Baccarat crystal works attract many visitors every year.

Day 12: The City of Images

Steps: Epinal

In Épinal, the capital of the Image and prefecture of the Vosges, you can visit its famous Imagerie in an interactive way, thanks to tablets that resurrect the past using augmented reality. But the City of Images has many other assets: a rich historical heritage, green landscapes, a museum that hosts, among others, a masterpiece by Georges de la Tour and its many festivals throughout the year

Day 13: Nature getaway

Steps: Gérardmer

Then, head for Gérardmer to enjoy its tranquility and breathtaking scenery. The grandiose panoramas of the Gérardmer lake, the largest natural lake in the Vosges, have earned it the nickname of "Pearl of the Vosges". Don't hesitate to walk around it. A 6 km marked trail allows you to enjoy the beautiful scenery in any season. In the summer, pedal boats, canoes, swimming and ice cream vendors await vacationers, and the landscaped banks offer the spectacle of a true "Vosges Riviera". In winter, Gérardmer becomes a real ski resort. Downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, sledding, snowshoeing, snowboarding, snowkiting: you are bound to find something to suit you

Day 14: Final attractions

Steps: Jeanménil

On your last day, take a trip to the Fraispertuis-City amusement park, in the top 10 of the French favorite amusement parks. The entire park was built on the theme of the Wild West, suggested by the red rocks that outcrop here in Jeanménil. With its 37 attractions designed for all ages, Fraispertuis City is a must for families on vacation in the Vosges.
