Detail of the stay : On the wine route - 6 days

Day 1: The Medoc

For your first day, take a tour of the Médoc. This wine-growing area is especially famous for its red wines, which are both powerful and round. Belonging to the Bordeaux vineyards, the Médoc extends over 80 km from the north of the Bordeaux area to the Pointe de Grave. It includes several classified grands crus and well-known local AOCs spread over 5,800 hectares.

Day 2: Le Blayais - Bourgeais

On the right bank of the Gironde, you will find the vineyards of Blayais and Bourgeais which cover 5,000 hectares. Take a tour of Blaye and its citadel built by Vauban. Several estates are waiting for you there like the Château Marquis de Vauban which offers different wine tourism services. On the Bourg side, discover the white wine of Brulesécaille with its lemony notes!

Day 3: The Libournais

The Libournais vineyards are among the greatest wines in the world! Like Saint-Émilion and its medieval city. Its wines are known for their fruity aromas and spicy notes. Take advantage of your stay to admire the chateaux Angélus or Cheval-blanc which produce famous and prestigious grands crus. Do not miss Pomerol and its exceptional wines.

Day 4: The Entre-deux-Mers

To satisfy white wine lovers, a stay in theEntre-deux-Mers region is a must. Known for its dry white wines, this AOC vineyard is mainly composed of Sauvignon grapes. Take a tour of the properties that welcome you to discover these fresh wines. With some oysters, shellfish or foie gras, you will enjoy these wines which are to be drunk young.

Day 5: The Landes

Less known, the wines of the Landes region are full of surprises. Take the time to discover the wine productions of the region, in the domains or the cooperatives. The diversity is here, between the different grape varieties and the multiple AOC. Discover, for example, the wine of Tursan, the IGP Landes Coteaux de Chalosse or even the wine of Dunes. Wines of the soil!

Day 6: The vineyard of Irouleguy

Did you know that the Aquitaine coast has the smallest PDO vineyard in France? The vineyard ofIrouléguy, in the Basque Country, covers an area of 220 hectares. You can even visit it by shuttle bus, for a guided tour. This tour, of about one hour, allows you to discover the village and its vineyards which are bathed in sunlight and produce fruity, fleshy and easy-drinking wines!
