Markets Drôme

The black diamond is sold on the market every Sunday morning from 10am to 12pm from December to March so that all truffle lovers can buy a small quantity and enjoy it at least once a year. It is in a simple canvas bag that the truffle growers hide their precious and marvellous tubers, the price of which is fixed according to the national rate, before meeting in the local bistro to share the traditional pastis.

Two markets in Crest, one on Tuesday, the other on Saturday which takes larger proportions. Many producers in the region are present, including good goat or plant cheeses.

The markets of Valence take place every day except Sunday (then towards Romans!). The most important one is the one on the Place des Clercs on Saturday morning and all of them already have a Provencal feel. Come early in the morning to feel the pulse of the city. You will find fruits and vegetables from the region, peach platters from the Rhone valley in summer, everything to make your summer ratatouille and jams, olives, cheeses from small producers, honeys and charcuterie. Around the square, several terraces for a coffee or an aperitif, or even lunch.

Do not miss the very colourful Provençal market on Friday morning, which stretches in the lower town to accommodate all the gourmands in the region. In July and August night markets some Wednesday evening. Other market: that of potters, traditionally held on the weekend of Pentecost.

Nyons is an urban center in the heart of an agricultural and tourist region, but it's also a crossroads for trade, and it's only natural that markets have developed here. On Thursday mornings, the town's squares and main streets, closed to cars, are filled with hawkers and local producers unpacking their wares. The food market is located in the main square. In summer, a Provencal market is held on Sundays. The big Alicoque market (new oil festival) takes place on the first weekend in February.
