This is probably one of the most surprising bars in Gothenburg, not only because of its name, which, if you understand Spanish can be striking... What is most surprising is its decoration, directly inspired by a brothel in Tijuana that belonged, in the 1900s, to an ancestor of the family that now owns the bar. The cosy atmosphere, the period paintings and photos on the walls and the red curtains make this place a pleasant intimate bar where you can chat for hours over a drink.

On the border of the bohemian district of Haga and the old centre, the Nefertiti jazz club welcomes all jazz fans of the city. Numerous concerts by more or less well-known artists, some of whom are real international names, take place throughout the year on Friday and Saturday evenings. The price of admission to the concert depends on the fame of the artist on stage. These concerts, always of high quality, sometimes even attract celebrities passing through town... This was the case of Bono who came to the Nefertiti in 2010!

The atmosphere of this place is quite unique and very representative of the spirit of Gothenburg: Dirty Records is both a used record shop and a vegetarian café! The border between the two is so porous that you can get up to browse the record boxes while your coffee cools down a bit. It's the perfect place to have a fika after browsing the neighborhood thrift stores, but you can also have lunch there (a unique dish, but different every day) or a glass of wine in the evening.

In winter, you can come and warm up by the wood stove, in summer you can enjoy the green oasis of the terrace. In short, whatever the season, you'll have a fabulous time in this café, as it is the very definition of mys, Swedish comfort. Mixture of antique and design furniture, plants that climb everywhere, large windows, subdued atmosphere, candles, rough floor... This place is a temple of good taste, but also of good coffee and good food, and you can count on an extremely kind staff!

In the heart of the Trädgårdsföreningen garden, this charming café is housed in a building built in 1874. It goes without saying that it is at its most pleasant during the summer season, when a large terrace allows you to sip a hot or cold drink while enjoying the sun, and especially the countless plants and flowers of the garden. It is an ideal place to take a break between two visits and to cut yourself off from the hustle and bustle of the city for a few hours. It is also possible to have lunch or to taste pastries.

Along Monbijou Street (that's already a poem!), in the old knitting factory of Malmö, here is a surprising hybrid place. As you climb the iron steps of this imposing brick building, you feel like you've been teleported to Brooklyn, so you push the door open and discover a sublime setting, somewhere between a 1950s diner and an old jazz club. The Asian-inspired cuisine is as refined as the cocktails. On weekends, musicians and DJs come to electrify the adjoining concert hall. Exotic!

A little piece of paradise in the middle of Gothenburg, that's what the owners of the place have tried to create. On the 23rd floor of the Gothia Towers Hotel, this cocktail bar with its large, wide windows offers a sublime panoramic view of the city. If you're hungry, try a shrimp sandwich on the spot, as it's the house specialty. In fact, it's the biggest shrimp sandwich in the world! The bar is open late, so you can spend a long time contemplating the view or making new friends!

Bought in 2002 by Andy Beerson and his family, this ^19th century building, a former brewery, has been renovated over the years to become an institution in Malmö. Behind the high brick walls is a concert hall and club, and now a pub and brewery that produces its own beer filling the place with hop flavors again. In all, there are seven beers brewed on site that you can taste, hard to find a shorter circuit!

All the big concerts take place here, every week or so. 750 seats for this establishment which has welcomed world famous bands and artists since 1982... Night-club the weekend, for the party people it is thus a place to try. Think to look on their website before your visit to know the program and to book concert tickets! You can also eat on the spot, in the bar-restaurant of the place which is very appreciated by the locals and the artists of the corner. Atmosphere guaranteed.

The café is located in the ruins of St. Hans church (13th century). White stone walls and an old, untouched archway shelter a garden where round wooden tables and wrought iron benches are shaded by elder and apple trees. From this very romantic setting, there is a superb view of the old houses embedded in the rock face overlooking the garden. Mejeriet, Lund's old red-brick dairy(mejeri means "dairy"), is located at the entrance to the public gardens. It is another famous venue in Lund, with a large concert hall and a tiny cinema showing non-commercial films. Between September and May there are plays, exhibitions, jazz, rock and afro concerts and film screenings. The atmosphere is guaranteed whatever the evening, you can meet people, drink, dance, and enjoy the unique atmosphere of this student city!

Right on the big Stortorget square, this bar-restaurant is the trendy place in Lund. Metallic decoration set with black and white photographs of jazzmen and movie stars. It is a meeting place where the inhabitants of Lund come to relax at the end of the day and make new acquaintances. The cuisine is original and tasty, with chefs following the " mash it up " trend. This means mixing different cuisines and recipes while using seasonal ingredients from local farmers and producers.

Located behind the cathedral, Ariman is a cult place in the city frequented by a clientele of students, musicians, poets and artists who like to chat, play chess and read newspapers (sometimes even Le Monde diplomatique!). They serve hot sandwiches with olives and melted brie, chocolate cakes and coffee with milk in large glasses. On weekends, the bar turns into a nightclub with an atmosphere that varies according to the evening: reggae, raï, soul-funk, swing... A highly popular place!

The Stadsparken park is located 500 meters south of the train station and has a small red wooden house with white tables and umbrellas in front of it. The park is surrounded by majestic avenues lined with oak, beech and elm trees. The place, very quiet, is ideal for reading and playing chess. You can enjoy delicious and original pizzas, all topped with a homemade tomato sauce, 28-month aged parmesan and premium olive oil from the Spanish producer Castillo de Canena. What good products!

A very good address. A wooden house in the Haga district houses this very popular café, which is frequented by both locals and tourists. The mismatched furniture and the cosy decoration make the charm of the place. The various sandwiches offered, all fresh and appetizing, are also consistent and will not leave you hungry! Finally, the service is always top notch and the good atmosphere is there, whatever the time. In short, the ideal place to go after a day of visits.

One of the restaurant-bars in Linnégatan with a large terrace in a good location. The drink menu is interesting. On Fridays between 4 and 6 pm, when the week ends and the after work begins, the Linnéterrassen offers a small free buffet to its customers. A live jazz band performs every Friday from 6 to 8 pm. A very nice place for a classy and successful start of the evening. You can also taste some very good food and delicious aperitifs can be served with your drink.

This club is one of Avenyn's trendy nightclubs. It has an electro program with good DJ's from the Swedish scene who perform here regularly, like the famous and iconoclastic DJ Peter Siepen. The club's owner claims that "everyone has been here", from the King of Sweden to Bill Gates to the king of disco, Prince himself! However, the legend has yet to be proven... Having said that, it's true that the place is popular and that one generally spends a good evening there. On the other hand, the clientele is rather young.
