Arken means "the arch". It's an exciting building that is visited by many architecture students every year. The building is based on shipbuilding principles, with upper and lower decks connected by a ladder. There's also an exterior control deck! In addition to its unique view of Køge Bay, it's a very popular restaurant. Danish specialties (herring, soup, shrimp), seafood (in summer), fish of the day. The terrace overlooking the harbor is very pleasant.

An institution located in the "Glass House" at the beginning of Storegade. One of the island's most popular café-restaurants. Good Danish cuisine concocted by Chef Gunnar. The place gets very busy on Saturdays, so reservations are recommended (by phone only). Open since 2004, this is the home of David Jensin and his wife Annette. Have lunch by the window on the main street side, or retreat to the cosy, quieter courtyard and enjoy the sunshine and the view of the church's magnificent red steeple with its white stripes.

Café Nokken is one of Nykøbing Sjaelland's finest restaurants. With a breathtaking view of the marina and a modern setting, guests can sit back and relax. The fine, generous menu will delight guests looking for authentic gourmet dining. Plates of local produce, burgers, cakes... From starters to desserts, quality is the order of the day. The little extra? The family who own the restaurant have chosen to donate part of their profits to local associations to promote the dynamism of the small town.

A little way off Roskilde's main pedestrian street, in an inner courtyard where the shaded terrace unfolds, an address for meat lovers or brasserie-style dishes (Caesar salad, mushroom omelette...). At Rib House, two rooms welcome you with a cozy fireplace upstairs, set under a superb whitewashed wooden roof, surrounded by old photos that tell the story of the town's past. A warm place, impeccable, fast service and hearty dishes. Excellent value for money: we recommend it!

Raadhuskroen, translated as "the mayor's crown", is an inn that recalls the past. From the street, the sign swings gently and creaks. The atmosphere takes us in! Inside: velvet seats and black carpet, small lamps and old leather-bound books on the shelves, the whole is rather cosy. There is a room on the second floor for groups, a courtyard at the back. Musical evenings are organized in the summer. As for the menu: traditional dishes including the famous smørrebrød, very affordable. It is simple, good and copious.

European-style food in this Viking-style trattoria. Ideally located on the waterfront, between the Viking Ship Sheds and Museum and the Youth Hostel. A very nice room with high ceilings, where you can have lunch and dinner in a bright setting, behind the huge windows overlooking the fjord. The terrace is just as pleasant. On the menu: oysters, ceviche, bacala montecado, Norwegian lobster, tartar with French fries, gnocchi... Enough to satisfy everyone with tastes that recall the south.

The place to go for fish. Seaside atmosphere with fishermen's nets and sand almost under your feet or between your toes! Røgeri means "smokehouse". So you can enjoy hot and cold smoked fish. After running the small business and smokehouse on Margrethevej since 2004, the owners' dream has come true: to open a restaurant. The formula is simple: an all-you-can-eat buffet with home-made specialities, fresh salad, fish balls, fish fillets, bread and butter.

An address that does not deceive on its products on sale! Here, you will find only sandwiches.... or almost! Located in the Hugo's Gård district, in a former fish smokehouse, easy to recognize by its ochre facade, it is the place in town where you can eat the cheapest sandwiches, but also salads, and finish on a sweet note with a very greedy milkshake. Fresh products (the bread comes out of the oven every day! Rye and gluten free) and local products. About thirty proposals on the menu, enough to come back every day...

While enjoying a magical view of the fjord, savor dishes prepared with fresh local products. A bistronomic cuisine that will delight you. The Easter menu had us salivating: herring with currants and sour cream, herring with mustard and baked shallots accompanied by marinated rhubarb followed by a creamy egg salad with roasted cauliflower and spring onions and smoked cod roe rillettes with buckwheat emulsion. All accompanied by sourdough bread... and local beers (pop up store on site!)

In the heart of Roskilde in one of the oldest streets. The most popular restaurant in town. Intimate with 35 seats in the evening. You can eat Danish specialties with French and Spanish inspiration and high gastronomy. The plates are like works of art and the combinations are inventive. Reservations are essential. There is also a beautiful courtyard used throughout the summer. Danish ingredients, preferably local and seasonal, and the menu is based on 11 small dishes of the same size and price.

Looking for fresh air and a lively atmosphere? Café Caramel is known for its large terrace where you can enjoy a coffee or a drink in the sun. For the gourmets, the café offers its customers a menu for brunch in the summer, but also a number of hearty and varied dishes. Salads, meats, pastas, burgers and pan-fried vegetables will satisfy a wide range of customers, including vegetarians. Because of the high number of people, you can expect a long wait despite the diligence of the staff: don't hesitate to make reservations.

Ideally located not far from the Øen i søen gardens, the Grill-Letten has made its reputation in Slagelse: this restaurant-grill offers all day long a variety of boards to be tasted with fresh products, the smørrebrøds. Depending on your appetite and budget, the restaurant offers a wide choice of smørrebrøds to suit all budgets. For the amateurs of meat or burgers, the variety of the menu will be of setting, although the originality is not with the meeting. Instead of tasting the food on the spot, you can take it to go (the park is not far)!
