Read moreOn Thursday and Sunday mornings, the Neuville market is one of the most famous and popular in the Vienne region. On the Place de la Mairie and in the Halles (inaugurated in 2015), traders set up their stalls at dawn. Around 8am, the little town comes alive. Some of the stalls have become veritable institutions: come and discover Mélanie and Alexandre's vegetables and fruit, Sandrine's fish or taste the rillettes from the Dupont charcuterie!

Read moreEvery Saturday morning, traffic is diverted to accommodate the various vendors. The atmosphere is relaxed, with smiling people. Everyone takes the time to chat around the stalls or enjoy a drink on the terrace. Several farms come to sell their fruit and vegetables. There are also cheese and poultry producers... Others offer honey, beer, wine, charcuterie, flowers, coffee, tea, ready-made meals, olives, oils, fish... The stalls are colorful, the products good - enough to concoct a delicious meal!

Read moreOne of the most easterly communes in the département, it's best known for its fair. Every 29th of the month since 1484, it's a not-to-be-missed event! On these days, the commune of 300 inhabitants welcomes no less than... 450 vendors and exhibitors! In the aisles of the various sectors of activity (brocante, wine, poultry, trees, food...), it's a mad rush. Don't miss: the famous calf's head! And in the Marché au Cadran, breeders (cattle and sheep) and buyers meet. This anonymous auction has plenty of rhythm. Worth seeing.

Read moreEvery Thursday from June to September, the Place de la République plays host to the summer markets. In front of the stalls, everyone salivates. The specialties of the Poitou region are on display: Haut-Poitou wines, farci poitevin, tourteau fromager, goat's cheese, Haut-Poitou melon, craft beer, broyés du Poitou... You can taste them on site or take them away in your suitcases. Don't hesitate to talk to the producers, who will be delighted to tell you all about their products. Local artisans will also be on hand, selling jewelry, clothing, pottery and more.
LA FERME DE LA REVERSAIE
Read moreIn the countryside, Nathalie and Christophe Favard raise 200 goats on site, on over 60 hectares of organically farmed land. Since 2013, they have been transforming the milk into delicious cheeses (mothais-sur-feuille, p'tit chabis, bûche, palet...), fromage frais and yoghurts. They sell their products, as well as those from the Balandière farm (vegetables, organic bread) every Tuesday evening on site. In summer, in July and August, other local producers join them to sample even more local produce - yum! Good mood guaranteed!
