Acting as a tasting room, the premises also offer local and seafood nibbles, as well as a great program. For the more curious, the microbrewery where their divine nectars are brewed is only a few minutes' drive away, in L'Anse-à-Beaufils. Also worth a visit: Auberge Chez Pit (lodging, boutique, light meals, terrace).
LA CAPTIVE
Read moreLa Captive offers a fine selection of house beers, from chilled lager to Saison, Hefeweizen, Oatmeal Stout and Bitter Rousse. For a bite to eat, the slate features a daily menu, and the à la carte menu includes appetizers, lunch salads, gourmet sandwiches, decadent burgers, pizzas on homemade beer batter and poutines. All that's left to do is entertain yourself with musical or comedy performances, visual art exhibitions and other events organized on site.

The place is warm and inviting, with a number of different objects and artifacts as decoration. At the start of the day, opt for the Brise du Matin (breakfast), served daily until 11am. Then it's on to the à la carte menu, featuring salads, gourmet sandwiches, pizzas on naan bread, mac & cheese and other delicacies. To be accompanied by a Gaspesian beer, of course!

Renowned for its incomparable hospitality, it was supported by some of the biggest names in song when the building burned down in 2017. Pending its planned reopening in 2025, the performing arts have taken up temporary residence in a marquee set up for the cause, as well as in other local venues. We can't wait to see the new installations for the 2025 season!

Read moreA wonderfully restored former fish factory, it hosts numerous visual art exhibitions and top-quality shows, as well as a café-bistro serving local Gaspésie dishes and refreshments. The 130-seat auditorium features music, comedy, poetry, documentaries and more. Workshops for young and old are also offered in the gallery-boutique, and hiking trails leave from the factory, along a river that can be crossed by gondola.

Its house beers, also distributed in many sales outlets in the province, are to be discovered: L'Avalanche, a hoppy Session, La Tripeuse des Bois, a Belgian blonde with honey and thyme, Flibuste, an oatmeal Stout, or La Gueule de Requin, an Eisbock brewed once a year. The on-site boutique allows you to stock up on your favorite nectars and items bearing the effigy of the microbrewery.
