THE VIEW OMAN
Read moreSet at an altitude of 1,400 metres, this is a luxurious eco-lodge whose rooms on stilts flirt with the void, offering a grandiose mineral panorama of the surrounding mountains and the towns of Al Hamra and Bahla at the bottom of the valley. The same vertigo can be felt from the restaurant and its terrace on the side of the ravine, and from the infinity pool that seems to plunge into the void! There is a choice of two room categories: at the front, the Premier with its wide-angle view and bathtub flush with the bay; at the rear, the Superior - with a more limited view angle, but of equivalent quality.

BAHLA HOTEL APARTMENTS
Read moreThe stopover and roadside hotel par excellence, the Formula 1 of the Hajar, with no other vocation than to provide the traveller with a proper bed and air conditioning, a shower with hot water, a TV with satellite channels after a day of sightseeing or trekking. Rooms or apartments for up to 6 people, restaurant in the basement.
MISFAH OLD HOUSE
Read moreAt the bottom of the old village, in the heart of the oasis, this was the first traditional house to be converted into a guest house, thus initiating this type of tourism in Oman. Spread over several levels (not recommended for the elderly), it still offers the most authentic setting. With its many nooks and crannies, it houses 15 rooms for 1 to 7 people, with mattresses on the floor, air conditioning, shared bathroom on the landings or private bathroom, as you wish. We love the pretty covered terrace nestled in the palm trees and the rooftop restaurant. Charming!

Each house has a few rooms, some of which are blind, but all of which are comfortable, air-conditioned, and typical of the area, with a private bathroom attached or on the landing. The majilis are quiet places to rest and read, and some houses even have an outdoor rooftop from which to admire the oasis of Nizwa. Possibility of privatization for small groups or families. A favorite!

BAIT BAITYN
Read moreRashid, the owner, has painstakingly restored this ruined house. The 10 air-conditioned rooms, with beds (not mattresses on the floor) and private bathrooms, are unpretentious but very comfortable: dark wood, natural ochre and beige tones, carpets to warm you up... a rather sober, almost chic decor. A traditional buffet is served for dinner, but there are eggs and pancakes for breakfast! A 45-minute guided tour of the oasis is offered to every guest.
