One of the city's historic cafe-bars occupying the site of a medieval church. Nowadays, people tend to settle down on the terrace on the famous Place du Peuple, where there are often concerts. But you have to enter the establishment, pass the first large space with minimalist interior design and modern countertop to discover the small pre-Romanesque room, perfectly restored, with semicircular arches, four columns topped with Corinthian capitals. The room is reserved for institutional events, banquets.

On the riva, in a privileged residential area, the establishment has a panoramic terrace. Perfect for ordering a hot or cold drink, an ice cream or an aperitif, or even a meal facing the sea, without any car in front. Here there is space and calm, the view of the island of Uglan, the splendid sunset of Zadar. A large interior room, which is appreciated when it is cool. The menu of this Dalmatian brasserie (pasta, risottos, grilled meats, pizzas, etc.) has been expanded and the service is impeccable

On the sea promenade leading to the marina, after Caffe Bar Barka, there is the more modest Caffe Bar Marex. Both have a view of the sea, but it is the Marex that impresses most, with its panoramic terrace overlooking the old town floating on the Adriatic. At sunset, the last rays seem to irradiate you with the sound of the waves. The service is fast and friendly, the prices affordable. Perfect for the aperitif, just before going to dinner but also for the first coffee or breakfast. Good ice creams too.

In the public garden of Queen Jelena Madijevke, created in the 19th century, this lounge and club bar occupies the entire north wing of the historic park. When it opened a few years ago, the establishment thought big. Low tables and sofas scattered widely in the greenery, staircase terrace, bar and club designed by an architect in a fake cave, ice walls and electro music that increases as the day progresses. In this park, also open during the day, the management offers relaxing breaks in the cool (strong alcohol in low doses)

One of Biograd's favorite hangouts for young people. This large café-restaurant-club is famous for its cocktails, but you can also eat good fisherman's cooking, have a nightcap on the harbour promenade or spend part of the night here in summer with the music of the DJs. It's a place for everyone to come and relax at the time of day that suits them best. It's a great place to meet people, with a lively atmosphere and dynamic service (a must for all customers). Caffe Bar Hobos is a good place to party, without going too "overboard".

This is the unmissable meeting point of the historic centre, with a view of the archaeological remains and the bell tower on one side and the Kalelarga Street, the main pedestrian street, on the other. We can't be more central! A large terrace in the sun all day long, very hot in summer, more pleasant out of season. This very attractive café-bar is at the forefront of festive, sporting or musical events in the ancient square. You can also settle under the arcades with the (typical!) premises or indoors.

Since the summer of 2022, when the Hookah closed in 2021, the Hotel Imperial Beach café and beach club has occupied the site. The place is open from morning for a coffee, a cold drink or breakfast. During the day, it's drink & beach, then afters get the party going. Extend the evening with a cocktail or other beverage, with or without alcohol, and something to dine on (pizzas, hamburgers). In this club, which opens the season with the Zrce Spring Break in May, it'sa bit like La Croisière s'amuse! With its dancefloor, pool on stilts and duckboards, you really feel like you're on a boat. Some people dive off the edge or go bungee jumping. Tourists and young Croatians and Bosnians come here to dance to the sound of local DJs or live concerts. A friendly, festive atmosphere. The Zagreb-based company has inaugurated the Noa Glamping Resort, a luxury hotel complex near Novalja.

The first to open on the beach, this club is also the closest to the pine forest. In the afternoon, the atmosphere is relaxed under the straw huts. Guests enjoy the small pool to the sound of calm music and indulge in a massage. You can come here to relax on the deckchairs without the risk of being sprayed by the sea foam! In the evening, DJs liven up the open-air dancefloor. Drinks and cocktails are quite expensive, so you come for happy hours, then stay to dance and meet new faces and regulars.

"THE place to be at Zrče! ", the professional clubber would tell you. We can go there in the afternoon for after beach parties and switch to electro parties in the evening. In this huge club, the alcoholic cocktails are flowing, young people in bathing suits are having fun in the pool, a giant crane above the club allows you to jump with a rubber band... The electro DJs modulate and give rhythm to the clubbing atmosphere. In the evening, dress code required at the entrance. The Papaya Club is only open in the summer. You can't miss it, it's the only café-brewery on which the famous Zadar Bridge (Most) leads. Terrace with a breathtaking view of the inlet between the historical city and the active city. Good spot to watch the activity of the old port and incidentally the people walking around. The place is very popular at the end of the day - the aperitif, therefore - with the last rays of sunshine. As far as fast food is concerned, enthusiasm is more limited!

You can't miss it, it's the first café you see on the quays when you get off the ferry. It is also the most lively! With its strategic position, the Caffè Bar Maritimo attracts tourists who are walking around but also boaters, regulars and islanders. In the morning, in the afternoon, it's rather quiet but in the evening, with the musical entertainment provided by the DJ, the atmosphere can quickly become very festive. A place that one frequents throughout the day and which changes face as the hours pass.

L'Hacienda was one of the first open-air discos to open on the Adriatic coast in the 1980s (but not on the beach!). Evenings are hosted by Croatian DJs, with regional artists regularly appearing. It's a summer club with a good sound and atmosphere, where Balkan beats and techno dance are the order of the day. Young locals and tourists mingle to have fun to the rhythm of the sounds, sipping cocktails and beers or soft drinks. For wild nights full of good humor.

Located in the hills of Primošten, around 2 km from the town center, the discotheque celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2021. After the difficult period of the Covid pandemic, Aurora remains one of the most famous clubs on the coast. On two levels, the club features two dancefloors, bars, a swimming pool, a VIP area and organizes concerts. On the first floor, you'll find the lounge, cocktail bar, restaurant and pool table. Upstairs, there are two dance floors, one of which is open-air. DJs alternate between all styles of contemporary music.

The place has quickly established itself as a day and night bar, where the youth of Zadar and tourists meet. The atmosphere goes up a notch during DJ nights or football matches. It is the lively spot par excellence where you can drink hot or cold drinks during the day, spirits, cocktails or shooters in the evening and even come and dance during the DJ nights.

On the small peninsula, at the end of the old Arbasani district, you can still find fishermen's houses that blend in with the modern buildings. This modest beach bar, with its old-fashioned tables and chairs, has been set up in one of them and enjoys a superb terrace overlooking the sea, a staircase leading down to the sea, a young atmosphere with cool music, cool drinks, with or without alcohol, cocktails, sunsets.

In the seaside district of Borik, the view of the bay and the old town of Zadar is breathtaking. This nice beach bar is located right next to the Puntamika lighthouse. A beach bar that has remained simple and welcoming at the same time. We come here in the morning for coffee and all day long. But the best moment is at aperitif time, when you can enjoy a cold drink, with or without alcohol, while admiring the sunset. A must for the locals that tourists are very happy to have discovered!
