SUPER CA'N PEP TIXEDÓ

Gourmet products local specialities and wines

A tourist supermarket that hasn't changed much since it opened in 1975, it has almost become a little legend in Les Salines, very practical for refuelling before going to the beach. The place is known for its sandwiches "a la carta" to fill with the ingredients of your choice and for its empanadas. You can also find typical local Ibizan products, from wine to olive oil and Ibizan salt, as well as seasonal fruit and vegetables. JOAN BENET

Olive oil producer

In 1996 Joan Benet decided to create the first extra virgin olive oil in Ibiza with the aim of recovering the intense and fruity flavour of his childhood oil, while endowing it with the sweetness and delicacy it lacked. Today it is produced for human consumption and is marketed under the name Oli d'Ibiza. Served in the best restaurants on the island, you can buy it directly from his estate (by making a small phone call beforehand), or in the island's grocery stores.

MERCAT VELL

Market

Located opposite the Portal de Ses Taules, the Mercat Vell is in the heart of the La Marina district. It occupies a building built at the end of the 19th century on the model of Greek temples, in the very place where farmers used to sell their produce. The market is not very big, but there are good products to shop for, including ecological fruit and vegetables and typical products of the island. Ideally placed to contemplate the comings and goings of traders and passers-by. Some of the stalls offer excellent bocadillos .

GLACIER - LOS VALENCIANOS

1 review

In the Marina district, we will enjoy sitting on the terrace of Los Valencianos to enjoy a cornet while admiring the ballet of the boats just opposite. In addition to offering a wide choice of audaciously assembled cups of whipped cream, biscuits and fresh fruit, the ice-cream parlour remains open until very late at night, so that it is not uncommon to come across a few exhausted night owls who have come to regain their strength at around 3am! An institution.

Quite simply the most authentic craft market on the island. Sale of products made by locals ranging from food to artworks to medicinal plants. Concerts from noon. Hippie atmosphere and very relaxed. MEKE COFFEE ROASTERS

Coffee Tea Herbal tea

New Zealand roaster Sam Swinburn arrived on the island a few years ago and has taken advantage of the opportunity to spread the good Arabica flavours throughout the Isla Blanca. His coffees can be found in bars, restaurants and grocery stores on the island, but it is in his pretty rural premises in Sant Llorenç that you can get a broader idea of the production process and the variety of ground beans offered by this inspired producer, with a tasting formula. Wines and fine liqueurs are also on sale in the coffee shop.

LA CASA DE LOS IBERICOS

Grocery store

This delicatessen specialises in the sale of Iberian hams and cold meats, wines and olive oil from the Balearic Islands, as well as Ibiza cheese. You can not only shop here, but also try before you buy: the large barrels set up in front of the shop, in the lively street of Sant Vicent, offer a perfect location for a small aperitif! Opt for a ration of ham cut on the spur of the moment by Jero, a true expert in the field, and let him advise you on the wine. Recommended address!

CARNES MARCH

Grocery store

A quality delicatessen to stock up on local or peninsula products: Ibiza wines, ecological olive oil, sobrassada, bellota ham, etc. Founded in 1965 by Vicente Roselló, it was the first butcher's shop in Sant Antony de Portmany. Run by the same family for three generations, Vincente's grandchildren have become breeders, taking care of their own herds of cows and pigs on their farm called La Cigüeña Negra. There are two other shops on the island (Eivissa and Sant Llorenç).

MARCHÉ HIPPIE DE LAS DALIAS

Market

This hippy market is very popular; dozens of sales points offer handicrafts, musical instruments... It is, according to us, the most interesting hippy market of the island, more typical and warm than the one in Es Canar. Besides, the owner of the place chooses himself the exhibitors at the beginning of the season, in order to favour the diversity of the products. Although a little less hippy than in the past, Las Dalias remains the most emblematic market on the island.

It is in a small street starting from the Plaça de la Constitució that you will find the pretty pastel blue room and the pleasant terrace of the Vivi's Creamery, the other good ice-cream parlour of the old town. Attentive service and very good location. Perfect for a sweet break.
