Near the cathedral, Medina is an elegant restaurant in a th century Norman house specialized in fish dishes. You take the aperitif in a small lounge, while the hotel master presents the specimens of the day to choose. You dine in a patio surrounded by flowers and plants, the by the noise of a fountain. White tablecloths and romantic atmosphere. The kitchen is Maltese and Mediterranean: on the Maltese sausage menu, mushrooms and garlic shrimp, duck duck, octopus stew. Choice of vegetarian dishes. Don't hesitate to push open the heavy, arty red sliding door to discover this delightful restaurant, intimate in both cuisine and décor: a ^17th-century building, a magnificent interior courtyard, a sumptuous banqueting room and a romantic ambience that's right up Mdina's alley. The menu features excellent Mediterranean and French cuisine, such as the succulent snail mille-feuille with aïoli purée prepared by chef Antoine Mamo. The menu changes frequently. Quite original recipes for meat and fish dishes.

This small neighbourhood bar with blue blinds has taken its place at the beginning of San Pawl Street: a restaurant area with stone walls, a grocery store with counter and a corner terrace uniting the two. We admit that we prefer the terrace to taste one of their specialities, pizzas, Maltese sausage, chicken, mozzarella and onions... Whatever it is, its size is quite impressive and you will have no trouble sharing it with at least two people. Also on the menu are equally hearty salads, Maltese sandwiches (ftiras), focaccias (a mixture of salads and pizza pieces) or delicatessen or cheese dishes. In the restaurant as in the shop, the place claims a very precise sourcing of the products, guaranteed of Maltese origin. To taste or buy, a whole selection of wines. An address that will become a must in Rabat.

This restaurant is located in a th century house (one can admire a garigor, a former Maltese staircase). The map is rich and varied, from Moroccan tagines to shrimps to shrimps. The excellent desserts are often original.

In the heart of the old town a nice restaurant where you can eat outdoors in a beautiful home and its small inner courtyard. The framework is an enchantment and is only the choice of the establishment. The cuisine that once mixed the influences of all continents is now rather Maltese.

Congratulations to Chef Louis Vella for having opened a quality restaurant in 2013 after transforming the two old historic buildings from top to bottom. And the result is there with an incomparable view of the villages of Mtarfa and Mdina, all in a very romantic art nouveau atmosphere. In the plate, no disappointment to be expected: seafood platter, lobster ravioli, rabbit liver, fried squid, duck breast, all accompanied by vegetables cooked to perfection and in season.
