Ornithology Paris

Huge green area, the bois de Vincennes is located on the territory of the 12th arrondissement of Paris, but is just as well from the capital from Vincennes. It offers numerous footpaths, bridle paths and touring cyclists and about covers an area of 995 acres (it is the green area most important in Paris), with 140,000 trees and houses nearly 150 bird species. It is a remnant of the old belt of forests surrounding Lutèce. First a royal hunting reserve, it is open to the public by Louis XV. After the Revolution, wood becomes an area of military training on 166 acres. The army installed his equipment some of which are still there: polygone shooting, cartouche factory, barracks... From this period also to the Vincennes zoo, the pagoda of Vincennes dates back (near lake Daumesnil), the tropical garden, the old national museum of Africa and Oceania from Porte Dorée which became national City of immigration in 2007.
