KOKOA

Bread cakes chocolates ice cream

In 2019, Kokoa celebrated its fortieth anniversary and was renovated. Originality and diversity, all the inhabitants of Le Touquet will tell you: the best ice-cream in town are at Kokoa. The choice of flavors is vast, from chicory to speculoos, and the ingredients are all of natural origin, with a few rare exceptions... The sorbets and ice-cream contain real pieces of fresh fruit (melon, peach, banana...), depending on the season, which are otherwise frozen at their place of origin (passion fruit for example). Dried fruits (nuts, hazelnuts, praline...) are also featured. Fresh fruit juices and tasty sandwiches are the perfect complement to this delicious gourmet break. An institution!

LE SUCCÈS BERCKOIS

Confectionery

Jean-Yves Matifas, craftsman-confiseur, has been perpetuating the family know-how since 1922. Here, everything is made by hand. The berlingots are made in front of your eyes and the spinning is undoubtedly the most spectacular operation. The thickened sugar block is hung on a hook and is spun before being transformed into exquisite coloured and perfumed apple, melon, violet sweets... Pleasure for the eyes, but also for the palate, with the sugar in all its states (candy, vergeoise, coloured...) and all its forms (lollipops, berlingots, marshmallows...).

CHOCOLATERIE DE BEUSSENT

Chocolatier

Under the arcades of the Place des Héros, this chocolate factory is one of the few in France to make its chocolate from beans that it selects and roasts itself. The production takes place in the chocolate factory of Beussent in Pas-de-Calais, which it is possible to visit, and in Lachelle, in Picardy. The specialties of the house? The chocolate with the hammer, the pralines with the old, a selection of chocolate of various vintages (Madagascar, Trinidad, Venezuela, Ecuador), more or less proportioned in cocoa according to the tastes... Smiling and pleasant welcome.

A self-taught pastry craftsman and former restaurant restaurant for large tables, Serge Leveau set up at Le Touquet to open the Gourmands Arts. What a success! Generous and creative, its preparations will surprise you and inspire you. You will be conquered by the fragrances of the macaroons and enjoy the countless colourful flashes (Fraise strawberry, saffron, Bounty, caramel…) and cakes or meringués desserts. The shop shop opens onto the shop and the smell are already an invitation to indulge.

Founded in 1985, the house of Beussent has nothing more to prove in terms of chocolate... Made in a traditional way, with the greatest respect for the raw material, its products have a characteristic taste appreciated by connoisseurs. This is the only shop in town where you can find the famous "Coeurs d'Arras" chocolates. For the history, the "Coeurs d'Arras" date from the 12th century. Dame Emma Crespin, whose family coat of arms represented hearts, owned a mill on the Crinchon (today's underground river) in the centre of Arras. His speciality: making heart-shaped pastries. In the 17th century, these pastries became chocolates. Their success still lasts, with dark or milk chocolate, with candied orange peel, they will delight young and old.

LES GIVRÉS DU CORNET

Glacier

This artisan ice cream maker has been sharing his passion since April 2012 and customers are raving about this address. The choice of ice creams and sorbets is impressive and the flavors as numerous as unusual. Some specialties are appealing: mushrooms, foie gras, tapenade... The sweet delicacies will however be preferred by the less daring: madeleine, crème brûlée, crumble, macaroon... The staff is welcoming and you can feel the quality of the homemade ice creams with raw milk and a rich and creamy texture.
