THE GRANARY RESTAURANT & COFFEESHOP

Bar and caf
4/5
1 review

This popular café offers good snacks throughout the day. The menu is creative and comprehensive, with toasties, salads and several cakes. You can also come in the morning for breakfast. Each day, you will find your suggestions on a large board, which add to the already varied menu. The beautiful stone house hides a pleasant pastel-coloured room, which is divided into two areas, with an extra terrace in front.

THE MERCHANT BAR

Pub

The Merchant Bar at the Bosville Hotel is probably the best pub in Portree for the setting and the beers served. Here you can enjoy several products from the Skye Brewery and a good number of single malts in a small, long room where the large stones and heating stoves set the scene. You will also find an excellent selection of Scottish gins and, of course, single malts from the island. You can also sample the much-loved - also award-winning - Thistly Cross farmhouse Cider, which is of course draught-proofed.

STEIN INN

Pub

In the small village of Stein, north of Dunvegan, this pub already lived in its white cottage in the 18th century. It is the oldest inn on the island and is proud of this title. In the hands of the same family for about twenty years, you can enjoy a traditional setting and nice views of the loch. 125 single malts are present at the bar, as well as local real ales and sometimes Cairngorms. The establishment is also a hotel and restaurant, for a stay with a breathtaking view of the bay of Loch and a guaranteed relaxation.

THE MISHNISH

Pub

This superb pub, typical of the Hebrides, is very traditional and popular. Its panelled walls, tartan carpeting, ceiling flags, warming stoves, billiard table and darts make it a pleasant spot to relax at any time of the day or night. As for drinks, you can choose between several real ales and a good selection of whiskies. There is also a simple but very correct food pub and live music is regularly played. If needed, you can stay there :The Mishnish is also a hotel.

THE ANTLERS BISTRO RESTAURANT

Coffee shop and tea room

This small establishment is a friendly and warm Jura address where everything is homemade: scones, cupcakes and other pastries. Soup, sandwiches and burgers are also freshly made! Why not treat yourself to an afternoon tea? The décor is simple and traditional, with wooden furniture and walls where photos and paintings by local artists are sometimes displayed. A shop area with handicrafts completes the offer

BOG MYRTLE SKYE

Coffee shop and tea room

This lovely café-tea room is located halfway between the Talisker distillery and Dunvegan Castle & Gardens: it is therefore the perfect stopover between two visits on Skye. The charm works thanks to a decoration between vintage and girly, but probably also because the place is a bookshop. In the plate, it is not a question of being seduced anymore: we are conquered by the home-made scones, the various pastries and cakes, the snacks, soups and dishes. Everything is freshly prepared and tasty, all in a warm family atmosphere.
