The Salinas d'Añana Salt Valley, located 30 kilometers from Vitoria-Gasteiz, is one of the oldest salt factories in the world, with over 6,500 years of history. The Salt Valley is also known for its unique ecosystem due to its salinity. In addition to the salt factory, Salinas d'Añana is also home to important archaeological remains from medieval times, as well as the Palacio Torre de los Varona, a citadel inhabited since the 12th century.
