Diwali is also known as Deepavali, Dipavali, Dewali, Deepawali, or simply the Festival of Lights. This festival is celebrated in October or November every year, with a public holiday and festivities lasting up to five days. The Hindu Festival of Lights marks the end of the 20-day Dussehra. This is the celebration of Rama's return to Ayodha, symbolizing the victory of light over darkness: all houses are decorated with small oil lamps after prayers and blessings.
